Michael Chammas writes: The Raiders were unlucky not to notch up a rare victory against the Panthers last week. They haven't been affected heavily by Origin, whereas the Cowboys lose Johnathan Thurston, Matt Scott, James Tamou and Brent Tate.

AAP writes: Both teams head into this clash from a different planet in terms of form. The Raiders have lost their past three with a points differential of -84 while the Cowboys thrashed the Sydney Roosters last weekend to make it three wins on the spin and a spot in the top eight. The team they take to the nation's capital will be all changed from that one which beat the premiers however with Johnathan Thurston, Matt Scott, Brent Tate and James Tamou all on Origin duty while long-term injuries have ruled out back-rower Gavin Cooper and interchange hooker Cameron King. The Raiders have lost Josh Papalii to the Queensland squad with Mitch Cornish to debut off the bench. Let's hope for his accountant's sake that Raiders coach Ricky Stuart is more pleased by the refereeing this weekend after copping a $10,000 fine for comments made following last weekend's loss to Penrith.

Key: The Raiders' leaky defence has conceded the most line breaks in the competition (58). If they can tighten that up they should be able to bring some joy to Canberra against an undermanned Cowboys.
