Canberra star Anthony Milford denies he continued pushing for a release to join the Brisbane Broncos in 2014 and is committed to finishing his time with the Raiders ''on a big note''.

In his first press conference since confirming he would honour the final year of his contract with the Raiders before joining the Broncos from 2015, Milford also expressed his desire to continue at fullback for the Raiders.
Milford's contractual drama at the Raiders has been drawn out since August, when he initially asked Canberra for a release to be closer to family in Brisbane.
Despite signing with the Broncos for 2015, Milford denied he continued to pursue an early transfer.
Milford, the Raiders' reigning player of the year, said he was unaware of the similar situation experienced by NRL star Jamal Idris this week.
Idris, managed by Milford's agent Sam Ayoub, was granted an immediate release from Gold Coast to join Penrith because of homesickness.
''I don't even know what happened to Jamal, just been focusing on training and what I can do to improve my game,'' Milford said on Thursday.
''I'm concentrating on this year and trying to go out on a big note.''
Milford returned to pre-season training with the Raiders on Monday after being granted an extended break after the World Cup.
He had a sensational rookie season for the Raiders last year and continued that form with Samoa at the World Cup, winning two man of the match awards.
Just what role he fills for the Raiders in his final season remains the big unknown.
He excelled at fullback last year, but is viewed as a long-term half for the Broncos.
There is also a strong push at the Raiders for half Josh McCrone to be moved to hooker.
''Long term I'd like to end up in the halves, but last year I really enjoyed my time at the back, and especially for Samoa,'' Milford said.
''You can see where the spaces are and who's tired and who's not, and you don't have to do as much of the thinking.
''We've got [Terry Campese] and [McCrone in the halves], they've got a good combo there so I wouldn't want to break that up.''
Campese said while coach Ricky Stuart would tinker with combinations during the trials, Milford would probably stay at the back.
''At fullback he can learn a lot, and he did win the Mal Meninga Medal when he played fullback,'' Campese said.
''But he's definitely a half for the future. I've been at the club since 2003 and this [switching clubs] happens all the time, it's football, it's a professional sport. His decision was family-based and you can't hold that against people.''
