Knights skipper Jarrod Mullen believes all the pressure is on Sydney Roosters to win Saturday night's preliminary final.
The playmaker insists his side is relishing the underdog status and is keen to prove doubters wrong for the third time in as many weeks. "We're going in as the underdogs and that's the way we like it," he said. "No one expected us to win the first round [of finals against Canterbury] and definitely no one expected us to win last round [against Melbourne]. So it's good. The team's building confidence going into tomorrow night."
Winger James McManus, a late scratching against the Storm, has been ruled out of the do-or-die clash at Allianz Stadium. Kevin Naiqama, one of Newcastle's best in the opening half against Melbourne, trained on the wing on Thursday and will retain the position.
"Jimmy's out and obviously he's shattered," Mullen said after training.
