So much so the Raiders are on the verge of having their worst home record in the club's 34-year history.
The Raiders must beat the in-form Manly Sea Eagles on Sunday and the Penrith Panthers in their final home game to avoid setting a new low.
The Raiders have won just two of their 10 games at Canberra Stadium this season.
Those victories were against the two sides on the bottom of the ladder – the Raiders smashing the 15th-placed Gold Coast Titans 56-16 in round nine and accounting for wooden spoon favourite the Newcastle Knights 36-22 in round 18.
Five of this season's 10 losses at home were by fewer than six points.
Turn two or three of those into victories and the Raiders would be inside the top eight and not having to use the word "mathematical" to describe their situation.
In contrast, the Raiders have won six of 10 games away from home.
Raiders prop Paul Vaughan said the team's poor home record was disappointing.
"It's a bit frustrating for the fans and for us as well," Vaughan said. "They come here week in and week out to watch us and it'd be nice to repay them with a couple of wins.
"We've been really good on the road this year and heading into the pre-season, that's probably something we've got to address, getting Canberra back to the fortress it was."
The Raiders have won four home games in a season on four separate occasions – their inaugural season in 1982, 1985, 2011 and 2014.
Since moving from Seiffert Oval to Canberra Stadium in 1990, the Raiders have an excellent home ground winning percentage of 65.13 per cent.
They average 26.72 points per game at home while conceding 18.96 points.
Their attack has still been solid this season, averaging 23.2 points per game, but their defence has allowed on average 21.9 points per contest.
In previous years, the Raiders have tried different methods to snap out of their losing streaks.
The moved worked a treat, the Raiders embarking on a winning run at the end of the season to charge into the finals.
"They've all been very close games at Canberra Stadium," Vaughan said. "It's not like we're getting dusted by a lot of points.
"It would be nice to win those close games, but it's not happening for us at the moment."
