The pair went for scans on Monday afternoon with the club expecting results on Tuesday, as they look to plug holes in defence and bounce back from consecutive defeats to start the season.

Leilua was carted from the field in a medicab with an ankle injury in the first half of Canberra's loss to Newcastle, while Gubb failed to finish the game with a groin problem.

Stuart says the Raiders have a few more injury worries to contend with and remained tight-lipped on who could be in doubt, but it is understood Leilua and Gubb are the only players awaiting scan results.

Leilua looked unlikely to be fit for the Warriors clash in the aftermath of the Newcastle defeat, with Elliott Whitehead and Nick Cotric options to play centre, whilst the likes of Michael Oldfield and Brad Abbey could also come into consideration.

Gubb's absence would be a cruel blow with Canberra back-rower Joe Tapine already sidelined with a dislocated thumb, but it could open the door for Royce Hunt, Liam Knight or Makahesi Makatoa to get a call up.

No matter the scan results, Raiders halfback Sam Williams says the Green Machine can't afford to hit the panic button so early in the season after opening with consecutive 30-28 losses.

The Raiders have scored the second most points of any club with 56 over the opening fortnight but sit 12th on the ladder having leaked 60 points - the third-most in the league.

They are gearing up for a date with the high-flying Warriors, who have turned plenty of heads in a 2-0 start thanks largely to the arrival of five-eighth Blake Green.

Williams says 28 points should be enough to win games but admits Canberra's defence hasn't been up to scratch.

That's what separates Canberra from a side like the Wests Tigers, who have scored just 20 points this season and notched up two wins.

"We've got a few new structures but we're scoring points, but we're not stopping enough and that's where the issue is," Williams said.

"We've got to make sure we're better defensively as a whole. If we are, then 28 points should be enough to win you games.

"They're a team on the rise and a team with a lot of confidence at the moment. They'll come out here with a really good attitude and on a bit of a high.

"We've got to make sure we're better than them next week and we get the two points. It's certainly not panic stations but we just need to start winning.

"At the moment it's close but not good enough. There's no point dragging our lip around and being miserable about it, we've got to look at what we can work on and fix it and hopefully turn our form around a little bit and start winning these games.

"Hopefully we can put it behind us."

The Raiders have now lost 10 games by six points or less since the beginning of last season but five-eighth Blake Austin showed shades of the form that once catapulted him into State of Origin discussions against Newcastle.

Williams says "it's no secret that Blake is a very damaging ball runner" and he will need to fire against a damaging Warriors attack headlined by Shaun Johnson and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.

While Williams and the Raiders are desperate to ensure losing games doesn't become a habit, Newcastle forward Jacob Lillyman hopes the resurgent Knights can "get addicted to the winning feeling".
