Uncapped duo Jarrad Kennedy and Mark Nicholls have been named to make their first-grade debuts against the New Zealand Warriors at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.

They will be the 22nd and 23rd players Raiders coach David Furner has called on this season - just one fewer than the Manly Sea Eagles used in winning the 2011 title.

''It's frustrating and we've had our fair share of injuries, but we can't use it as an excuse,'' Furner said.

''Jarrad Kennedy and Mark Nicholls have been in good form for Mounties and they'll bring energy and excitement to the team.

''If the 17 players who go on to the field have the attitude of winning the game, we'll get the win,'' Furner said.

The Raiders are without six first-choice players through injury, including Test front-rower David Shillington, NSW fullback Josh Dugan and workaholic lock forward Shaun Fensom.

Prop Brett White and second-rower Joel Thompson were the latest additions to the club's casualty ward out of Monday night's 22-6 loss to the North Queensland Cowboys.

Shillington could be a late addition to face the Warriors, with Raiders strength and conditioning coach Leigh Woodbridge hopeful the Kangaroos and Maroons bookend was on the verge of returning from a torn oblique muscle.

''David's looking fairly good for this weekend,'' Woodbridge said.

''He's completed all his rehab.

''Look for squad training later in the week with a final fitness test.''

In a blog with The Canberra Times website, Raiders chief executive Don Furner said the club would consider signing reinforcements to cover for the injured players.

''Clubs are able to contract players up until June 30, which can help clubs in the case of large injury tolls,'' Furner said. ''We will certainly be looking at who is available.''

Raiders centre Shaun Berrigan will be free to play after accepting an early guilty plea for a grade one careless high tackle on Gavin Cooper.
