He's the most anonymous member of a star-studded Canberra backline, but coach David Furner has backed winger Reece Robinson to put his name up in lights this season.
The speedster prefers to keep a low profile and let household names Josh Dugan, Terry Campese and Jarrod Croker dominate the spotlight.
Now free of a niggling knee injury which hindered him last season, Robinson scored a match-winning 40-metre try in a trial against Canterbury on Saturday. Off contract at the end of this year, the quietly-spoken Robinson is determined to let his turbo-charged feet do the talking.
The 24-year-old has reportedly been one of Canberra's pre-season standouts and appears to have added a yard of pace over summer.
''Hopefully this is the year for me, I want to try and get an extension and earn another contract,'' Robinson said.
''We haven't won a trial in a while, so it's just good to get a couple of wins [for the team's confidence].''
Furner believes Robinson will be one of the Raiders' surprise packets in his third season in the NRL.
''It was a great try by Reecey [against Canterbury], it was a good opportunity and he showed plenty of speed to score that,'' Furner said.
''His pre-season was outstanding and that was just a reflection of that.''
Robinson played around 15 minutes at fullback in both of Canberra's trials and appears set to be the main understudy to star custodian Josh Dugan.
Youngster Nathan Massey, who played at the back last year when Dugan was missing, will return to full training next week after recovering from an Achilles injury.
Right winger Blake Ferguson also played in the No.1 jersey on a couple of occasions but Furner has earmarked Robinson as next in line.
''What Reecey has shown is if Duges does any sort of injury or he's not playing, he's quite capable of playing that fullback role,'' Furner said.
''We've worked hard on that over the pre-season and he looked quite comfortable.''
Robinson relished the chance to be more involved at fullback in the trials and is confident he can fill Dugan's sizeable boots if needed.
''I don't mind playing a bit of fullback, you get more involved and follow where the action is,'' he said.
''I've only played there a few times in the past, but I'm enjoying it.
''It looks like that [being second-choice fullback] at the moment, but a few of the other boys like Nathan Massey are injured and who knows what will happen when he comes back.''
