On the day the Raiders and the ACT Brumbies returned to pre-season training, Earl said that he missed being part of a team and was keen to be involved in more physical activity. He turned to social media to declare he was ''fitter than ever'' and keen to play knockouts or tournaments.

A year ago Earl would have been with his Raiders teammates starting pre-season and preparation for the NRL campaign.

Earl was provisionally suspended in September when he was the only player charged and issued with an infraction notice for use and trafficking of a performance-enhancing drug.

Earl confessed to the use and trafficking of performance-enhancing drug CJC-1295.

However, it is unclear whether his provisional suspension prevents him from playing amateur sport.

Thailand-based Earl stressed he was not seeking a rugby league comeback.

''I'm just getting a bit of itch, I'm starting to get that buzz again, there's not much sport in Thailand,'' Earl said. ''I'm not going to dive into anything until I know what's happening.

''I'm just waiting and waiting to see what the future holds and get some direction.''

ASADA has not yet decided Earl's punishment, expected to take the form of a reduced one-year ban for use and trafficking of CJC-1295 in 2011 while recovering from a shoulder reconstruction.

He faces bans of two years for each offence, but is seeking a 75 per cent reduction for ''substantial assistance''.

''Any League/Union tournaments or knockouts going on at the moment??,'' Earl tweeted on Monday.

''Professional/Fun I still haven't been banned and am fitter then ever!!''

Earl has been training in Thailand and has opened an organic health bar in Phuket.

An ASADA spokesman said: ''When and what we say about any operational matter is strictly governed by our legislation. Under our legislation ASADA is unable to provide further comment at this time.''
