Winger Andrew Everingham has signed a one-season contract extension with South Sydney.
Everingham, 25, made his first grade debut in round three and has scored eight tries in six matches.
"I'm really grateful that the Rabbitohs have shown faith in me to re-sign me for another year and hopefully I can repay that faith with some strong performances on the field," Everingham, whose new deal runs until the end of 2013, said today.
Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire says Everingham is developing into a quality first grade footballer.
“It's a credit to Andrew to have earned this new contract,” Maguire said in a statement.
“He's worked extremely hard at his game since joining the club last November and that's been reflected in the wonderful start he's had to his NRL career.
“He's progressing as a player every week, and his hard work has put him in a position to compete on a weekly basis for a spot on the end of our backline.
“We're lucky to have quite a bit of talent in our outside backs and Andrew is now a contender for those spots each week, which is healthy for the team to have good options to pick from.
“We're all looking forward to continuing our work with Andrew and watching him develop further as an NRL player.”
