Referee’s Elite Performance Manager, Tony Archer:

“Gerard Sutton was close to selection for the first two matches and refereed this year’s City v Country fixture,” Mr Archer said.

“The change in the team is not a reflection on the performance of the referees in the first two games - we were comfortable with their performances.

“Shayne Hayne remains one of our top referees and, subject to form, I would expect him to feature in the Finals series.”

Who do you think will come in for the Roosters?

The big five issues for this week are all Sharks related:

  1. Who should coach the Sharks?
  2. Who should play five eighth for the Sharks?
  3. Should Todd Carney be allowed back in the NRL?
  4. Can the Sharks avoid the wooden spoon?
  5. Should the Sharks go for a young or an experienced coach?

Have your say in the comments section on the right.

  • Funny isn't it. Benji plays below par and certain journo's list him as the worse buy of the year and a has been. He has a good game and no one mentions it. He is slowly building to be a worthwhile addition to the dragons and his defence last night was quite strong and probably one of his stronger efforts for a few years.

As a Sharks fan, in response to the big issues:

    1. I'm all for saying let Gal be captain/coach. The alternative is for someone else to do it for 10 weeks and step aside for Flanaghan. Maybe Kimmorley if anyone.
    2. Nu Brown
    3. I think he probably should be allowed to play. What he was doing wasn't illegal. Will he though? Probably not.

The whole NSW back line (excluding Hayne) is boring boring boring. No footy work no ball skills...
