Tough as teak ... Newtown's Neil Pringle.
Tough as teak ... Newtown's Neil Pringle.

Legends. I was pulling up the lino at my Illawarra St residence when I discovered my old set of footy cards. How good was Newtown's Neil ‘Bing’ Pringle? Local Newtown legend has it that he was selected for the third grade squad when he was only thirteen years old - until the club officials found out his age and wouldn’t let him play.

For true believers, the Newtown team for round six is here.

Talkin' Teams: Do we have any Bulldogs fans out there willing to share their thoughts on Sonny Bill Williams that I would be allowed to publish. I liked the $huttle Bu$ William$ banner idea.

"Wests Tigers five eighth Benji Marshall will tomorrow learn the result of scans on the toe he injured during Monday night's loss to Melbourne Storm. Marshall was injured during the first half, but finished the game as Wests Tigers put in an improved performance against top of the table Melbourne. Wests Tigers coach Mick Potter is hopeful Marshall will be able to take the field for Sunday's blockbuster Heritage Round match against St George-Illawarra."

Who knows more about rugby league? Christmas, left, or Chammas?
