Canberra's pommy pairing Josh Hodgson and Elliott Whitehead believe the influx of English players into the NRL has the red and whites primed for a Four Nations title charge.

Hodgson says English players would regret not taking the leap from the UK Super League to test themselves in the world's premier rugby league competition.
The Raiders hooker has been a revelation since arriving in the nation's capital last year and could become the first Englishman to win the coveted Dally M Medal.
"[Playing in the NRL] was definitely an attraction to me when I was younger," Hodgson said.
"Then especially when I saw Sam [Burgess] and James Graham come across and really make a success of themselves. It definitely opens your eyes and makes you want to test yourself as well."
Hodgson hopes the NRL's English contingent will continue to grow in the coming seasons with Jordan Turner set to join his countrymen at the Raiders next year.
Penrith have already nabbed English back Zac Hardaker, while 22-year-old England international Dan Sarginson will play for the Gold Coast Titans in 2017.
Whitehead has stamped himself as one of the game's premier back-rowers having played all but two minutes in his debut season.
"The NRL is the best competition in the world of rugby league," Whitehead said.
"So for people in England that want to come over it's a good [opportunity] to test themselves against the best players in the world."
The influx of Englishmen into the NRL ranks has Hodgson believing England have "a great chance" ahead of this year's Four Nations tournament.
England coach Wayne Bennett has reportedly looked to bolster his side ahead of the tournament, courting the Morris twins and Trent Hodkinson who qualify through family ties.
But the English rake believes the home side are more than capable of winning their first major title without the help of Bennett's Australian imports.
"I've had a fair think about this really," Hodgson said.
"I've got a son, he's born in Australia. He may never go to England to live there for the rest of his life.
"But if he grew up and said he wanted to represent England, and he was proud to be English because his mum and dad are English, I don't really see what the issue would be with that.
"But in terms of somebody that's not really got much English background, but they're just doing it because they can't make another squad then I obviously won't be a fan of that."
The Morris twins boast 24 Tests for Australia and 26 NSW Origin caps between them, with father Steve also representing NSW and Australia.
Hodkinson has turned out six times for NSW in the Origin arena.
"If it's somebody that's passionate about England and would really be proud to represent the country and represent the flag and do well for us, then absolutely no problem with that," Hodgson said.
The Four Nations starts in October featuring Australia, England, New Zealand and Scotland.
