    Live: Broncos v Tigers

Brisbane return to some sort of form tonight against the Tigers but you'd have to ask serious questions about the opposition at Suncorp Stadium. Josh Hoffman gets a double, Corey Parker was superb and the big guns of Hodges, Gillett and Thaiday all stand up. Benji Marshall had three or four horrible misses in defence, two of which led directly to Brisbane tries. He'll want to forget this one in a real hurry.

Brisbane take it out 32-12. Thanks for your company tonight. Check out brisbanetimes.com.au and the SMH tomorrow morning for all of the latest on this game, Blake Ferguson and the Queensland Origin announcement.

    FULLTIME Broncos 32 Tigers 12.

Broncos score in the corner to finish this one off. Hoffman again. Too easy. The Tigers haven't shown up in the second half tonight. It's 32-12.

Tigers score. Game over but Sue gets one for a bit of fun. Main thing now is all Origin players get through. Woods looks fine for the Blues, Queensland contingent looking good for the Broncos, although Hodges can hurt himself walking to his car. Broncos 26 Tigers 12. Three minutes left.

Crowd is 21,339 here tonight. That's not too shabby for a Monday against an opposition that's not a big drawcard at the moment.

Andrew Johns on Triple M saying Benji Marshall just hasn't put his body on the line. That and then some. The Tigers attack now but Reddy botches it badly on the sideline as he just sort of runs into his winger. Brisbane lead 26-6 with eight minutes remaining.

TRY to Prince. And that defence is HORRIBLE from the Tigers. The veteran just stands there, brushes off Marshall, brushes off Fulton and sprints to the line. They had him covered and then some and he was just too good. Marshall's defence tonight has been atrocious sadly. Broncos lead 26-6.

This could be a long second half for the Tigers. Not really firing many - and by many I mean 'any' - shots after the break. Ben Hannant has been good for the Broncos in his return from injury. It won't get him in the Qld team but it's been very handy for Brisbane. The Broncos rampaging up the park again and they've butchered that one. Get a penalty though. Brisbane lead 22-6.

Whoops. That's a howler from Joel Reddy. Tigers under immense pressure and they eventually cave. Reddy goes up to catch the Wallace kick and fumbles.... right back to Hodges who runs about 30cm to score the TRY. Rugby league scribe Steve Mascord has suggested Reddy may have just played himself out of South Australian Origin contention. Broncos in charge here 22-6.

Brisbane just smashing them at the start of the second half. One-wary traffic, even if there's no change to the scoreboard that reads 16-6 in their favour. The Broncos big men playing a little footy before the line, ball getting wide quickly, it's pretty stuff. Tigers forced to drop it out now and they look knackered after 11 minutes in this second stanza.

Meanwhile, big charge from Hannant and Brisbane go close. The kick just wouldn't sit up in the in-goal and it rolls dead. Tigers saved by the bounce there. They trail 16-6.

We'll keep you up date with that breaking news from NSW with Blake Ferguson charged with indecent assault. He will appear in court on July 16, the day before Origin III. NRL dealing with the issue and strong chance he will be stood down.

The second half has started but big news coming out of Sydney around the NSW Origin side.

    HALFTIME Broncos 16 Tigers 6.

Sensational run by Parker. He'll be the starting lock for the Maroons. It sparks the move, spun wide by Wallace, finds Reed who finds Hoffman, who finishes superbly. That's a TRY to Brisbane and number 11 for the year for Hoffman. He can get over the line, no doubt about that. Brisbane lead 16-6. Prince hits the kick like one of my five irons after 10 beers. It's halftime.

He shoots, he scores! GOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL. Broncos lead 12-6.

Back-to-back penalties to the Broncos. Sue pinged for a shoulder charge off the ball on Hannant, who felt that one. Scott Prince being mauled tonight by Fulton, in other news. Brisbane's halves clearly being targeted by the Tigers, who I get the feeling think they are A: Old and B: A bit ordinary. Broncos lead 10-6. Four minutes to the break as Prince lines up a penalty right in front.

Referee has ruled a 'no try' here for the Tigers but they will have a look. No try it is. Iosefa was at dummy half on the Broncos line and basically tried to bust through his own marker to score. He got it down eventually but that's the correct ruling. You can't do that young fella. Score remains 10-6 to the Broncos with five minutes to play in the first half.

Wallace caught with the ball on the fifth. He's having a tough night the Broncos number seven. His side has the 10-6 lead though and the Tigers look to be a man down with Anasta nursing a shoulder. Hodges has been a big handful on the left.

TRY here to Brisbane I think. And that is quite bizarre. Three separate kicks involved in that play, all of them fairly rubbish. Reed kicked the first one, which was regathered by Hoffman, who offloaded to Hala, who passed back to Reed, whose second kick was like a soccer dribble and went about 10cm. He managed to regain, finds Hoffman, who grubbers and Reed scores. Broncos lead 10-6 after 30 minutes.

Penalty to the Broncos as Tigers hooker Masada Iosefa is placed on report for a leg twist. The referees referred to it as a 'figure four leg lock' and were surprised Thaiday didn't tap out.

Good set in defence from the Tigers on their own line. Blake Ayshford with a big tackle on Kahu to save the try then the Wallace cross-kick is easily diffused. It was ordinary at best. And a penalty to the Tigers to boot. Score remains 6-6 after 25 minutes of play. Braith Anasta is off with a shoulder injury.

Oops. David Nofoaluma drops the Scott Prince bomb and this is a very handy opportunity for the Broncos. They get the fresh set 15m out from the Tigers line. Just run at Benji. It's 6-6.

TRY to the Broncos! What an effort from Matt Gillett! Did it all by himself. Fended off Marshall from a standing start, then Pettybourne, then Marshall again and races clear to score. It looked for all money like he plonked the ball down short of the line but they didn't check. And the replays haven't had a good look either. But that was some try in any case. It's 6-6 after 19 minutes.

Strong defence from Brisbane on their line and a big surge from Justin Hodges to get them out of danger. And he wins the penalty. Origin play from the Origin player. What are Brisbane going to do when he hangs them up? Tigers up 6-0 after 17 minutes at Suncorp.

The Tiges looking handy here. Two penalties in a row, some good second phase from Sauaso Sue and now they go on the attack trying to add to that 6-0 lead. New Blues prop Aaron Woods on show tonight. He'll be a touch nervous about getting through unscathed you'd think.

Anasta has gone off the field. Left shoulder it seems and that doesn't look good. Trudging around to the benches now is our Braith.

Brisbane really need a win tonight and should do just that with all of their Origin players available. But this is a good start from the Tigers and they have the deserved 6-0 lead after nine minutes of footy. Not a bad sort of crowd here for a Monday night. Anasta down here for the Tigers. Was hit hard and is struggling to his feet.

Good evening folks. Late start for me sorry but early one for the Tigers. Super TRY for them in just the fourth minute and they have a 6-0 lead right off the bat. Sensational chip ahead from Fulton for James Tedesco. Wowsers.

    • Broncos too good, Tigers their own worst enemy. Without sounding like a sook can I get some clarification, is the shoulder charge still policed. If so, how can McGUIRE do one on Tim Simola, injuring Simola without penalty, but when Hannant has one done on him in the exact same spot the TIgers are penalised. Again, lack of consistency. Just a point, as I say the Broncos too good.
