Brisbane return to some sort of form tonight against the Tigers but you'd have to ask serious questions about the opposition at Suncorp Stadium. Josh Hoffman gets a double, Corey Parker was superb and the big guns of Hodges, Gillett and Thaiday all stand up. Benji Marshall had three or four horrible misses in defence, two of which led directly to Brisbane tries. He'll want to forget this one in a real hurry.
Brisbane take it out 32-12. Thanks for your company tonight. Check out brisbanetimes.com.au and the SMH tomorrow morning for all of the latest on this game, Blake Ferguson and the Queensland Origin announcement.
FULLTIME Broncos 32 Tigers 12.
Broncos score in the corner to finish this one off. Hoffman again. Too easy. The Tigers haven't shown up in the second half tonight. It's 32-12.
Tigers score. Game over but Sue gets one for a bit of fun. Main thing now is all Origin players get through. Woods looks fine for the Blues, Queensland contingent looking good for the Broncos, although Hodges can hurt himself walking to his car. Broncos 26 Tigers 12. Three minutes left.
Crowd is 21,339 here tonight. That's not too shabby for a Monday against an opposition that's not a big drawcard at the moment.Back to top
Andrew Johns on Triple M saying Benji Marshall just hasn't put his body on the line. That and then some. The Tigers attack now but Reddy botches it badly on the sideline as he just sort of runs into his winger. Brisbane lead 26-6 with eight minutes remaining.

TRY to Prince. And that defence is HORRIBLE from the Tigers. The veteran just stands there, brushes off Marshall, brushes off Fulton and sprints to the line. They had him covered and then some and he was just too good. Marshall's defence tonight has been atrocious sadly. Broncos lead 26-6.
This could be a long second half for the Tigers. Not really firing many - and by many I mean 'any' - shots after the break. Ben Hannant has been good for the Broncos in his return from injury. It won't get him in the Qld team but it's been very handy for Brisbane. The Broncos rampaging up the park again and they've butchered that one. Get a penalty though. Brisbane lead 22-6.
Whoops. That's a howler from Joel Reddy. Tigers under immense pressure and they eventually cave. Reddy goes up to catch the Wallace kick and fumbles.... right back to Hodges who runs about 30cm to score the TRY. Rugby league scribe Steve Mascord has suggested Reddy may have just played himself out of South Australian Origin contention. Broncos in charge here 22-6.Back to top
Brisbane just smashing them at the start of the second half. One-wary traffic, even if there's no change to the scoreboard that reads 16-6 in their favour. The Broncos big men playing a little footy before the line, ball getting wide quickly, it's pretty stuff. Tigers forced to drop it out now and they look knackered after 11 minutes in this second stanza.
Meanwhile, big charge from Hannant and Brisbane go close. The kick just wouldn't sit up in the in-goal and it rolls dead. Tigers saved by the bounce there. They trail 16-6.
We'll keep you up date with that breaking news from NSW with Blake Ferguson charged with indecent assault. He will appear in court on July 16, the day before Origin III. NRL dealing with the issue and strong chance he will be stood down.

The second half has started but big news coming out of Sydney around the NSW Origin side.Back to top
HALFTIME Broncos 16 Tigers 6.
Sensational run by Parker. He'll be the starting lock for the Maroons. It sparks the move, spun wide by Wallace, finds Reed who finds Hoffman, who finishes superbly. That's a TRY to Brisbane and number 11 for the year for Hoffman. He can get over the line, no doubt about that. Brisbane lead 16-6. Prince hits the kick like one of my five irons after 10 beers. It's halftime.
He shoots, he scores! GOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL. Broncos lead 12-6.
Back-to-back penalties to the Broncos. Sue pinged for a shoulder charge off the ball on Hannant, who felt that one. Scott Prince being mauled tonight by Fulton, in other news. Brisbane's halves clearly being targeted by the Tigers, who I get the feeling think they are A: Old and B: A bit ordinary. Broncos lead 10-6. Four minutes to the break as Prince lines up a penalty right in front.
Referee has ruled a 'no try' here for the Tigers but they will have a look. No try it is. Iosefa was at dummy half on the Broncos line and basically tried to bust through his own marker to score. He got it down eventually but that's the correct ruling. You can't do that young fella. Score remains 10-6 to the Broncos with five minutes to play in the first half.Back to top
