Raiders v Knights

The Raiders have said they want to make Canberra Stadium a fortress, but the walls are crumbling. That's six straight losses for the Green Machine at their home ground, their worst losing streak at home.

We'll back back next week, tuning in for the Raiders up against the Storm. It remains to be seen whether Canberra fans will be back to give them another chance.

Thanks for joining us. If you rush, you might get across to Manuka for the GWS Giants, who lead 18-7 against the Bulldogs.

Knights, Jarrod Mullen: "I'm still only 90-95 per cent, but hopefully I'll get better every week".

"It's been a tough start to the year, that's been well documented, but this will boost our confidence."

Raiders, Jarrod Croker: "We started alright, were against the breeze in the first half. We wanted to play up-tempo in the second half, but their tries came from nothing and we couldn't get back into it. It's disappointing."

That's full-time and the Knights record their second win of the season 26-12!

79Min: We're down to the last minute.

77min: The Knights have been brave in this match. They've lost a couple of players to injury - Gidley and Snowden - but they've been gritty. They've been solid when they needed it, but have turned on their attack when opportunities have arisen. Their two second half-tries have come from fantastic long-range plays.

76min: The Raiders haven't lost six consecutive games at home ever ... until today. Doesn't get any easier next weekend, taking on the Melbourne Storm at Canberra Stadium on Sunday .

75min: Raiders regather from a short kick-off. Maybe the Raiders should play the whole game like they're 14-down and there's five minutes to play. At least it sparks some energy.

74min: That'll do it. Roberts splits the posts with his penalty kick and the Knights lead 26-12.

73min: The Knights get a penalty in front of the posts and this will wrap it up for Newcastle. Roberts will step up to kick a penalty goal and put them 14 in front.

71min: There's nine minutes to go. I reckon the Raiders attack needs about another 90minutes though to score two tries.

69min: This is going to be a try to the Raiders, Croker passes to an unmarked ... oh no, it's Bill Tupou, who has spilled the beans with the line open. That's a coach killer. Or maybe the coach could turn on Billy boy at the selection table next week.

67min: That's a massive play by the Raiders. Huge kick from Campese, 60m into the in-goal. Then a huge chase by Jarrod Croker and Jarrad Kennedy to drive Dane Gagai back into the in-goal. The Raiders must take advantage now if they're a chance.

65min: The Knights are going down everywhere. Now it's Akuila Uate who looks to have twisted his knee in a tackle. He's going to play the ball after a short delay, but he's walking gingerly.

63min: You can understand the Knights taking every precaution possible given what's happened already this season. Snowden leaves the field on the medicab, let's hope it's not a serious injury.

63min: Medical staff taking all the proper precautions here, placing Snowden in a neck brace and putting him on a stretcher. It didn't look too bad, but good to see everyone's treating Snowden with the best care.

63min: There's another Knights player being treated, it's Kade Snowden. looks like he's got his head in the wrong place trying to tackle Jarrod Croker and has copped a hard hip to the temple. He's moving and talking, but suspect he'll have to spend some time on the sidelines.

62min: Gidley is having stitches to a gash above his nose and will also undergo the concussion test. he may still be back, but the Knights may not need him. They look in control.

60min: That's another superb try by the Knights. After the Raiders meekly handed over the ball on the last play. the knights go the full-length of the field in the following set. It starts with a BJ Leilua break down the left side, but it ends a couple of tackles later with Newcastle's other centre Dane Gagai scoring on the opposite side. Roberts converts and it's Newcastle leading 24-12.

59min: The Raiders have been ineffective again on the last play this match. Too often their cross field kicks are not finding the mark.

58min: Kurt Gidley is down receiving treatment. He's received a nasty and accidental knock to the head, from his own teammate. He's coming off the field to be checked. This is the opportunity the Raiders needed.
