The Tigers move into sixth position with that win, while the Raiders really will need to find something to avoid the wooden spoon this season.

The Tigers had all the ball in the first half, but lost three players during the match to injury, including strike fullback Josh Tedesco in the very first play. tedesco has a broken knee cap and first reports are that he'll miss 10-12 weeks.

The Raiders dominated possession in the second half but just couldn't convert. They seemed to panic too far out from full-time. That probably comes from having just one win in their past seven matches. Make that now one win from their last eight.

Brave win by the Tigers. Bad loss for the Raiders.

Thanks for joining me. I'm off to watch the Waratahs versus the Brumbies, which you can also follow on Fairfax websites.

FULL-TIME: Tigers win 19-18

79min: Pat Richards has cleaned up another dangerous situation. two big plays from the most experienced player on the field in the last minute. The Tigers should win here.

78min: Pat Richards saves the day for the Tigers. Kick from Raiders halfback Josh McCrone to a flying Brenko Lee. but Lee's ball inside - which would have led to a try - is intercepted by Richards. This will be amazing if the Tigers hold on. Brave.

77min: The Raiders need to go 70m

74min: Just like the 2010 final, Croker misses. Think he talked himself out of that one ... or was it me? It's still 19-18 Tigers.

74min: It's about 37m out, to the left of the post. Jarrod Croker trying to kick the Raiders into the front. Don't think of the 2010 final Jarrod, don't think if the 2010 final Jarrod ... oh no he's thinking of the 2010 final I bet.

73min: Raiders look to lose it on the attack, but Tigers penalised for tackling Shaun Fensom before he received the ball. Croker is lining up the panlty goal.

72min: Curtis Sironen the latest Tigers to go down and receive treatment. Stretching his hammy, but could be cramp. He's limping back into line.

71min: Anything you can't do, Campo, Braith Anasta can do better. Anasta slots a field goal from 20m out. Tigers lead 19-18.

70min: If I was the Tigers I'd be encouraged by that. There's 10minutes to go and Terry Campese opts to go for a field goal on the last play, 10m out. He sprays it wide. That is credit to a depleted Tigers defence.

68min: Blake Austin spills a Raiders grubber kick. This is Canberra's chance, 20m out with a full set.

67min: Tigers finally get some possession in the second half and are on the attack, but a loose ball - that didn't need to be thrown by Chris Lawrence - the ball floats over the sideline. Whichever playmakers take control here can win this one. Composure needed by both teams

64min: Wests Tigers are the walking wounded. David Nofoaluma has come back on, with his left knee heavily plastered. he's replaced the man who replaced him, Ava Seumanufagai, who is carrying a shoulder injury. I've seen less casualties in a season of MASH

62min: There's still 18 minutes to go and the Raiders are panicking. Canberra was just given six-to-go after Tigers knocked on from a Raiders kick, but Campese tries to push play and is ruled to have knocked on. On replay, a tough call against the Raiders skipper.

59min: Tigers repel set after Raiders set. Not sure whether to applaud Tigers defence first or take a shot at Canberra's attack.

57min: someone chop Anthony Milford's leg off. Kicking on the first tackle, with scores 18-18 and 10m out from the tryline is crazy. Luckily it rebounds back into Canberra's hands.

56min: The Tigers have knocked on again, just 10m out. Raiders MUST score points here.

55min: Raiders were awful there. Looked like Baptiste almost dived over from dummy-half, but the rest of the set was headless.

53min: Was that a really long mousetrap play. Play the ball from the Raiders goes through Baptists's legs and rolls about 3m. Raiders still on the attack.
