Georgia O'Neill and Darcy Read forged almost identical paths to the Brumbies women's team and will use the national championships as a platform to reach higher honours.

The odd couple - one's a damaging flanker and the other a dashing winger, are chasing Australian selection at the three-day tournament at St Ignatius College Riverview in Sydney.
The pair started their rugby journey together when they were on the sideline watching their brothers progress through the ranks.
Fast forward to now, and the pair have picked up where their brothers left off as the next crop of young talent prepare to make a name for themselves in the Brumbies set-up.
For O'Neill, a national sevens debut was within reach, before an injury ruled her out of the Austrlaian Pearls' camp. Now the Uni-Norths flanker is using the 15-a-side game as a launching pad to a green and gold jersey.
"I've been training pretty hard on my skills, my fitness and speed," O'Neill said.
"Hopefully that'll pay off and can get recognised in the nationals coming up."
O'Neill is among a host of young players named in the ACT Brumbies 23-woman squad for the Sydney tournament, where they will push for Wallaroos selection.
"All the girls want to do their best and push their limits, and hopefully we'll get some girls to make the Wallaroos program afterwards, and aim for the Irish World Cup for 2017," O'Neill said.
"The younger girls have great talent and something to offer. All they need is guidance and a pathway, which Brumbies do offer. Like Darcy [Read], she's new and she's doing so well."
Read's rugby obsession grew as she spent countless Saturdays cheering on her brother, before school gala days kick-started her playing career.
"I used to watch my brother play when I was younger, and I really enjoyed watching him," Read said.
"Once I got into school and into college, I was able to play with my school. From there, after school, I went on to play club rugby and now playing Brumbies."
Now, the exciting Royals winger has her eyes set firmly on a spot in the national sevens squad.
"I do like the speed of sevens. Fifteen's is good as a growing point, and sevens is somewhere to lead on to the women's as well.
"It's definitely a step to get to. It's all about moving upwards I suppose."
The national championships get underway on Friday, from which an extended Wallaroos squad will be selected for a camp on the Gold Coast in August.
