The Western Force flyer will be one of the danger weapons the Brumbies will need to be wary of in Friday night's crucial Super Rugby clash in Perth.

The Brumbies can wrap up a spot in the finals with a bonus point victory and are currently level with the NSW Waratahs at the top of the Australian conference.

While the Force have been struggling – winning just two of their 14 games this season – Cummins is capable of being a thorn in the Brumbies' side. He got the better of his personal battle with Speight earlier this season when he found the try-line when the two teams squared off at Canberra Stadium.

"In his terms, he got a meat pie over me at the beginning of the season, so hopefully I can get him back at home," Speight said. "If he doesn't get any meat pies this week, I'll be happy. If that means he's on a vegetarian diet, so be it."

Cummins was granted a release from his contract with his Japanese club so he could return to the Force this year and be eligible for the World Cup. He hasn't had a major impact this season, but Speight is well aware of the threat that Cummins poses.

"He's just a genuine competitor and he doesn't take a backward step," Speight said. "He's always in your face for the full 80 minutes. If you slacken off a bit, he'll be all over you and embarrass you a lot of times."

Speight has been in fantastic form, crossing the line for a double in last Friday night's 22-16 win against the Pretoria Bulls at Canberra Stadium. He is firmly in the mix for the spot in the Wallabies backline at the World Cup after making his international debut for Australia at the end of last year.

Speight's biggest competition for a spot on the right wing is likely to come from Waratahs veteran Adam Ashley-Cooper.

It could be an all-Brumbies wing competition, with Joe Tomane in the mix with Waratahs' Rob Horne and Cummins on the left flank.

"Joey's probably the form winger at the moment," Speight said. "The way he's playing, it's rubbing off on guys like us. We take confidence from the way he's playing."
