The ACT Brumbies duo will have just a handful of Tests next year under the guidance of new coach Michael Cheika as the Wallabies attempt to move on from a tumultuous 12 months.

But Pocock and Moore believe they can turn their injury heartache into a positive as they aim for a Super Rugby title and a Test recall next year.

They also believe Stephen Larkham's decision to turn down an approach from Cheika to join the spring tour will enhance the Brumbies' bid for a drought-breaking championship.

The Wallabies are desperate for stability after churning through three coaches in 15 months and six captains in less than two years.

Pocock is reluctant to look too far ahead given he's played just five games in two years and had two knee reconstructions, but the champion flanker is keen to be a part of the Wallabies' resurgence.

"It is hard when you're not playing, this year has gone pretty slowly. As a player, the World Cup is the pinnacle and you grow up wanting to play in it," Pocock said.

"That's a huge [goal] for next year, but thinking about it and talking about it doesn't get you there. This is a chance for the Wallabies to build regardless of who's playing."

The silver lining of Pocock and Moore's injury woes is that the Brumbies will get an unexpected boost for their pre-season training next month.

Wallabies Pocock (knee), Moore (knee), Scott Sio (ankle) and Scott Fardy (knee) will all be involved at training in Canberra after injury forced them out of selection contention for the European tour.

Larkham's presence is another boost after he considered Cheika's approach to start an assistant coaching role with the Wallabies.

Cheika asked all four rival Australian Super Rugby coaches - Larkham, Michael Foley, Richard Graham and Tony McGahan - to join him on the five-match tour which includes Tests against Wales, France, Ireland and England.

But all four turned him down given the short notice and Super Rugby pre-season set to begin in the coming weeks.

Larkham is open to the idea of joining the Wallabies' coaching staff for the World Cup next year, but put club before country in preparation for his first year as a Super Rugby head coach.

Moore backed the World Cup-winning flyhalf to be a Test coach in the future.

"I think [Larkham] would have changed his mind a number of times, I know the passion he has for the Wallabies and he certainly wants them to do well," Moore said.

"There's a hell of a lot to do in his first year as head coach of the Brumbies … our pre-season starts in the middle of November.

"He wanted to put full focus on the head coach here, but I don't think it will jeopardise his involvement in the Wallabies down the track. He would be fantastic in that environment."

Moore will be taking part in his first Super Rugby pre-season in 10 years while Pocock has completed just two in the past seven years.

"You can get quality work in during this time … Having [Moore] and [Larkham] here will be huge for us," Pocock said.

"Bernie's decision highlights the type of person he is and wanting to stay here … I was very impressed."
