A SANZAR judicial hearing on Tuesday found that Speight was guilty of a lifting tackle in last weekend's 39-19 win in the qualifying final against the Stormers in Cape Town.

However, the judicial officer requested further information be presented for consideration before a sanction was handed down.

Speight was handed a red card in the 74th minute of the win against the Stormers when he appeared to flip Juan de Jongh on to his head when he didn't have the ball.

A SANZAR spokesman said a final decision would be made on Wednesday.

"A SANZAR judicial hearing has found that Henry Speight of the Brumbies contravened Law 10.4 (j) Lifting Tackle, after he was shown a red card during a Super Rugby match at the weekend," the statement said.

"Further information has been requested for consideration by the judicial officer before a sanction can be determined.

"No comment from any party will be made until the hearing is complete."

The Brumbies will be desperatly hoping the Wallabies flyer avoids a ban as they aim to keep their championship dream alive.

Speight has been in sensational form for the Brumbies this season and will play a key role in shutting down the outstanding Hurricanes back-line.

The Hurricanes have lost just two games all season and had the luxury of having a week off in the first week of the finals.

Speaking before the judiciary hearing on Tuesday, Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham said he had several contingences in place if Speight was ruled out.

"We've got Robbie Coleman, James Dargaville and Nigel Ah Wong, all have had really good years this year," Larkham said.

"All have very good combinations with the other starting members.

"Whichever way we go there we'll be fine."

Coleman is the most experienced of the three options.

The former Australian Sevens representative can play anywhere in the backline and has made the most of his opportunities this season.

Coleman has played the majority of his games for the Brumbies either at fullback or at inside centre, while also having had stints on the wing or at fly-half.

Dargaville has been strong in his first season with the Brumbies.

The 23-year-old was spotted while playing for the Sydney Stars in last year's National Rugby Championship.

Ah Wong has had limited opportunities for the Brumbies this season, but has the speed and strength to be hard to stop out wide.

Speight didn't train with the Brumbies on Tuesday.

The Brumbies will continue preparations on Wednesday before flying to Wellington on Thursday.
