And that's all she wrote in Dunedin, the Brumbies win 30-19 in tough clash against the Highlanders. The Brumbies are at the top of the table while the Highlanders are languishing at the opposite end and still searching for their first win of the season.

76: TRY! Highlanders. Kiss of death again from the Canberra Times-Fairfax blog. All of a sudden massive gaps appear in the Brumbies' defence and Aaron Smith goes through a gaping hole. Smith has been good after being dropped to the bench and only coming on the field after half-time. Parker converts. Brumbies 30 - Highlanders 19.

72: Kudos to the Brumbies defence. The Highlanders were camped in their attacking zone for a few minutes but the Brumbies defence kept driving them backwards and evenutally earned a penalty. Brumbies 30 - Highlanders 12.

69: Some changes for the Brumbies. Pat McCabe and Colby Faingaa are on. Jesse Mogg and George Smith are off.

66: Love that, the Old dogs going at it and in open play. Brumbies veteran George Smith makes a break down the left wing and looks certain to score. Who's there to stop him with an ankle tap? Yep, that's right - Highlanders 38-year-old grandpa Brad Thorn. Score check, we're still at Brumbies 30 - Highlanders 12.

63: Missed penalty goal from the Brumbies, this time it's Christian Lealiifano's attempt wihich falls short from about 38 metres out on an angle.

57: PENALTY GOAL attempt, but Nic White falls short from 51 metres out. Someone run out and tell them we're not in Pretoria or Bloemfontein! I know we're a long way from Canberra, but Dunedin isn't in South Africa .. I don't think. No one's given me biltong anyway.

54: TRY! The TMO says no clear evidence of a knock on from Tevita Kuridrani or that Scott Sio was offside. The Highlanders will feel extremely hard done by after their try was disallowed earlier in the match. Anyway, it's a try to Joseph Tomane, Lealiifano converts and all of a sudden there's a big gap. Brumbies 30 - Highlanders 12.

54: TRY! There's a midfield turnover from the Highlanders and the ball spills loose. It bounces up perfectly for Joseph Tomane who races 50metres to score a try. Hold on, we're checking for an offside at the TMO.

49: Anyone else confused by the Brumbies' No13 out there. If you are, you can stop rubbing your eyes. No, Andrew Smith didn't run out of the change rooms as a new Fijian. It's Tevita Kuridrani in the jersey. Smith went off injured after just the second minute.

48: PENALTY GOAL. Don't you just love a scrum penalty? Highlanders No8 Mose Tuiali'i gets penalised for some sort of illegal p0acking. Because it's the second short-arm penalty in a row at the scrum, Christian Lealiifano gets  a chance to shoot for goal and nails it. Brumbies 23 - Highlanders 12

43: PENALTY GOAL. The Brumbies force a turnover on halfway and Sam Carter wins a penalty at the break down. Nic White takes a long range shot from 49 metres out and it just has the legs to get over the dot. The commentators describe White as a "little bloke". But he's got a massive boot on him. Brumbies 20 - Highlanders 12

42: I know this stadium is undercover, but I'm freezing in the outside area of the media box. Is it snowing outside?

41: We're back on the field in the second half. My tip - first try-scorer wins the match.

HALF-TIME: Good entertainment here in the break. We've got a Jon Tuxworth blimp dropping down flyers to kids chasing it and some sort of cannon launching something into the crowd. The students in the Zoo loved it.

HALF-TIME: Pretty tight contest between the teams. The Brumbies look the most likely to score, but they're not taking full advantage and the Highlanders are only just behind. The home side is staying in the contest with penalty goals to Hayden Parker. Here's a recap:

ACT BRUMBIES 17 (Henry Speight, George Smith tries; Christian Lealiifano 2 conversions, penalty) lead OTAGO HIGHLANDERS 12 (Hayden Parker 4 penalties) at Forsyth Barr Stadium. Referee: Chris Pollock.

40: PENALTY GOAL. The Highlanders were on a roll there. Some good offloading from veteran Brad Thorn and big No8 Mose Tuiali'i gets the Highlanders within striking distance and then Ben Alexander gives away a dumb penalty at the breakdown. Hayden Parker knocks another one over and we've got a five-point gap at the break. Brumbies 17 - Highlanders 12

37: NO TRY. WE could have a riot here! Everyone thought that was a try. Hosea Gear spun around and appeared to get the ball down over hte line before losing control. But the TMO Keith Brown says Gear lost it. The crowd boos and the Highlanders have to run back from inside their own half for the scrum. That won't have the Kiwis happy. I guess that's what happens when luck is against you.. Brumbies 17 - Highlanders 9.

37: TRY..or is it? the kiss of death in the blog and the Highlanders find some free space. Hosea Gear gets some space down the touchline and barges over the last Brumbies' defender to get over the line. but we're checking with the TMO.

37: The Brumbies are making metres in defence, they've driven the Highlanders back 15 metres after a break from Nonu.
