Live: NSW Waratahs v Western Force

That's it for today. The Tahs move within a point of a wildcard berth albeit having played an extra round than their NZ and RSA rivals. They head overseas for the first time this season next week when they travel to Wellington to take on the Canes.

The Force head home to host the Rabble.

Thank goodness that was over. One of the least entertaining games of the year. The Force had a game plan of playing it in tight, the Tahs kept to their promise of running the ball but just could not get enough of it to keep the match flowing.

Adam Ashley-Cooper had a great game, Hugh McMeniman seems destined to return to the Wallabies, while Israel Folau showed a lot of promise with the ball in hand - if not at the breakdown or with the boot.

81st min: Benn Robinson stands tall and forces the turnover and McKibbin boots it out. Tahs win.

80th min: Just guessing the Force will not be playing for the penalty.

80th min: Force go into touch. The Tahs have the ball, can they hold it for a minute. They choose to hoof it out of their territory. Force have one last crack with a lineout throw.

78th min: A calvacade of errors. The Tahs force the turnover but McKibbin kicks the ball out on the full. Which team wants to win it?

77th min: Or will they concede the short-arm penalty? Force take a quick tap.

76th min: And now the Force put themselves under pressure after botching the throw in. Tahs have an attacking scrum feed. Will they attack or shut up shop?

75th min: Adam Ashley-Cooper forces the turnover and the Tahs belt it down field inside Force territory.

72nd min: The Tahs are living up to their promise of the running with the ball. It's a shame they have had it for less than 33 per cent of the game. That time they go 60 metres. Folau busts another tackle but Mathewson steals it five metres out and the Force put it into touch.

70th min: Hugh McMeninam having another whale of a game. He force a turnover as the Tahs are on the attack. And the Force get the penalty.

69th min: Sam Norton-Knight is on for the Force. Allianz Stadium is a happy hunting ground.

66th min: McKibbin misses. FoxSports says the Tahs have had 33 per cent of possession.

65th min: Penalty to the Waratahs. Steve Walsh says it is a shoulder charge, the video ref agrees, the replay says it is a bit harsh. McMeninam is getting attention as McKibbin lines up another kick at goal.

65th min: The Force pick and drive but eventually even Steve Walsh gets bored of it and he pings the visitors for not releasing the ball.

63rd min: This is a snooze fest. The Force don't want to play attacking rugby while ever they are in striking distance. The Tahs are not good enough to keep possession.

McKibbin makes half break but Folau slips and is isolated and the Force earn the penalty. What odds on lots of pick and drives from the lineout?

59th min: And Ebersohn duly kicks it. NSW 23 Force 19.

58th min: The Force attack and attack and attack. After stretching the line early they opt for the ball under the arm and play for the penalty. Which they duly get.

56th min: The Force on top at the moment. They get an attacking scrum feed inside the Tahs' 22.
