The Force win their fourth game in succession and didn't they deserve it. They played hard, patient rugby and it was a try in the final minutes to fullback Jayden Hayward that broke Queensland hearts. It was 17-all at the break but the Reds couldn't go on with things. The Australian sides continue to beat each other up and every player out there is going to feel that tomorrow. McCalman huge for the Force, Hayward fantastic as well. Cooper good for the Reds, as was Harris, but neither man could find the winner. Cooper with the drop goal at the death but it went wide. Spare a thought for first-gamer Jonah Placid - made a shocker of a defensive read to give the Force the try that helped turn the game.
The Reds? Well, they are toughing it out but yet to catch fire. They have to be winning these home games or they'll fall out of touch in a hurry. The Force? They're in the top six and flying. Tahs at home for them next week.
Cooper drop goal for the draw.... and it misses! Force celebrate! They've stunned the Reds and have won four on the trot for the first time in franchise history. Terrific game here... both sides out on their feet.
Siren has gone... Reds have the feed. They win... what can they do...
Kick is good and it's 32-29 with less than a minute on the clock. Force after four straight. Reds need it back from the restart. And they earn a scrum. They'll have one final shot.
The Force building to something here.... double figure phases now. Reds sucking in the big ones but managing to hold them for the moment. This is the key passage of play for this game. Force need a try.... and they GET ONE. TRY to the Force and Jayden Hayward is going to get the winner! Under the sticks after 16 phases of patient rugby. Reds stunned. It's 30-29 with a kick to come.
Harris - four from four tonight and they are valuable points for the Reds. It's now 29-25 with five minutes to go. Reds in charge but this game has been swinging wildly.
Cummins drops it off the bomb... but he gets away with it. No he doesn't, penalty Reds and Harris will load up again. He's 40m out and this is about as far as he can kick I'd reckon.
And now Nathan Charles pinged for obstructing Simmons off the restart. Harris kicking now for the Reds, Cooper with a little leg injury. Not serious but he's happy to hand over. And why wouldn't he? Harris gets another and the Reds are back in front. It's 26-25.
What about that.... it's a dodgy kick-a-thon. Ebersohn with the world's ugliest drop goal but over it goes. Just kisses the crossbar. Force lead 25-23.
Ooomph. Placid and Haywaard collide and Placid cops a knee in the chest. And he's pinged for dangerous play to rub in some salt. He's off - will probably hope to forget his debut.
It's Mike Harris, pardon me. Nails it as well. Can kick a bit, Aussie Mike. Reds lead 23-22. Changes for the Force - Faulkner and Prior on, Cowan and Mathewson off.
Penalty to the Reds - Cooper with a chance to edge them back in front.
TRY to the Force. A horrible read from the kid Placid, who raced up to tackle, er, nobody and Morahan goes over untouched. He just seemed to lose all idea of where he was on the field and that is a gift for the Force. Hayward takes over kicking duties. But he misses as well... Force lead 22-20. There's 18 minutes to play.
Cummins with the break and the kick over the top. Davies rallies but it bobs up and the Reds have to ground it behind their line. Massive chance here for the Force as young Jonah Placid comes on for his Super Rugby debut. Taulagi the man replaced. Browning on for Quirk as well.
Cries for a forward pass against the Force.... looked a fair cry as well... but the Reds are only rewarded with a penalty against them at the ruck. James Slipper the man leaning all over the player and up goes the arm. But Ebersohn has the yips... misses again. It's still 20-17 to the Reds. Ebersohn has four from seven.
Well, he didn't hit that particularly well. Looked a driver off the deck and went low and hard. Got the flags raised though, so the score says it's Reds 20 leading the Force 17.
Reds finding space and now win the penalty. Cooper will have a crack.
He misses and the Reds are on the rampage! They've gone 70m and are on the attack here. But they give away the penalty in attack. Boo, says the crowd. Sweet, say the Force. Still 17-17.
More strong phases from the Force - the Reds not committing to the breakdown and backing their defence. But they infringe in any case and Ebersohn will have a fairly easy shot.
Lucas stepping and threatening but Cooper hit just as he tried to squeeze through that gap and it's loose. And some niggle from Mathewson for fun. Still 17-17.
Some big collisions again and the Reds find themselves on the right end of the penalty on this occasion. It's thumped into Force territory and the lineout is won.
Play has resumed - Richard Graham tells Fox he's happy with the composure. I'm sure he said that.
And it's good. Sorry about my adding up as it is in fact 17-17 after that penalty. Good game here at Suncorp. Anybody's game.
Siren has gone but here's a penalty coming for the Reds. Cooper will have a shot after the buzzer to put the Reds back in front.
Phase ball now for the Force and they edge ever closer to the Reds line. Simple stuff but it's working. Reds holding on grimly but here's the TRY to McCalman. That was 16 phases of very solid rugby and they kept it simple and patient. Force get their first try - it's 17-14.
Cooper with the conversion attempt.... it's good. Reds hit the front and lead 14-12. Five minutes left in the half.
Can you believe it! Slipper has them on toast again and opts for the dummy! But this time he's OVER. TRY to the Reds and they are storming back late in the half. Massive overlap and Slipper would not be denied. He must have a bet on surely.
Lucas with a little kick to Davies but it's too deep and it goes into touch. Cooper with a brilliant run before that and the Reds, for all of their poor discipline and dropped ball, finding some gaps now. Force have the line-out deep inside their own half and will smash this long you'd think.
Plenty of fire in this one - great to see. Don't need a bland Australian derby. Good stuff lads. Force up 12-7 as we hit the 28-minute mark.
James Slipper, go and get the butcher's apron. Had a three on one and opted for the dummy! Luckily for him, the Reds spin it back the other way and Tapuai scores under the posts. TRY Reds. Kick is good. It's 12-7 to the Force.
Game going nowhere here. Refs pouring through footage to find some infringement in the little squirmish, they can't, and instead find a shoulder charge from Cottrell on Schatz. And he's off to the bin.... and the crowd returns. Reds kick for touch.
Schatz gets cracked with what looked like a shoulder charge. Refs miss it but the Reds get a penalty for something else. Mass of bodies - couldn't make it out. But it's getting fiery! Horwill involved in a push and shove, Quirk and Charles as well.
And again.... what about this. Red being smashed and the boos ring out from the stands. Penalty count 6-2 to the Force and Ebersohn gets yet another. He's booted four - they lead 12-0.
Now the Reds infringing in attack, despite the assistant ref saying the Force were offside. Penalty count 5-1 to the Force - Reds being naughty again. Force clear and will attack again.
Force just dominating the Reds now.... another penalty looming and the Reds defence all over the shop/ This is going to be right in front again and Ebersohn will surely put them up by nine. Queensland needing to regroup badly here.
The Force stringing phase together here just inside Reds territory. Side-to-side stuff at the moment and now they find room down the left as McCalman makes some ground. Patient attack again Ebersohn has a penalty right in front. Force up 6-0.
Junior Rasolea off for the Force - arm or wrist injury and that's not a good sign. Marcel Brache the new man as Ebersohn puts the Force ahead 3-0.
The Force counter well and make a rare venture into the Reds half. They win a penalty for their efforts and will line up a shot at goal through Ebersohn.
Reds may have scored here.... super attack from the Reds, Davies chases but the ball simply wouldn't give him a bounce. Hugged the deck and he can't handle it. Scrum to the Force.... but the Reds looking handy. No score after six.
Penalty in the scrum and the Force will kick this well clear of trouble. Strong line out win, very questionable box kick. Reds ball.
Cooper the birthday boy today (I got him some socks) but can't unwrap that kick.
That makes no sense. He just missed. No score after three minutes as the Reds go back on the attack.
And away we go... the Force having a crack from their own half. Big watch tonight on Reds debutant JJ Taulagi. His full name is Jamie-Jerry Taulagi, so let's go with JJ. High shot and penalty to the Reds 45m out. Cooper will have a crack from long range.
