Just weeks after Maradona delivered a team talk to the Pumas, Wallabies coach Michael Cheika has opened the doors to some of Australia's round-ball experts.

Socceroos captain Mile Jedinak arrived at Wallabies training on Wednesday, while former goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer was invited into the changerooms after Australia's tense win against Scotland last weekend.

The Wallabies play Argentina in a blockbuster semi-final on Sunday (Monday morning AEDT), with the Pumas chasing their first appearance in the final.

The Pumas are still waiting to find out if Maradona will jet back to England after promising the players he'd be in the stands if they made it to the World Cup final four.

Maradona is still arguably one of the biggest names in football and a loved figure in Argentina after leading his country to World Cup glory in 1986.

The national hero delivered an inspirational speech after the Pumas beat Tonga in the pool stages of the tournament and partied with the players after their win.

Jedinak's presence was more low key, joining Wallabies great Michael Lynagh on the sideline at training.

The Wallabies are preparing for Maradona's magic touch to rub off on the Pumas as they add razzle-dazzle to their up-front grunt.

"They're very skilful. I guess they don't play the traditional type of game," said prop James Slipper.

"They've got an offload, they will throw the ball around in parts of the field that most teams wouldn't. And that is a credit to the way they want to play at the moment.

"Their confidence is pretty high and that's a direct result of the Rugby Championship they've been in for a couple of years now. They're definitely performing really well and competing against some really big teams."

Jedinak and Lynagh watched on as Cheika put the Wallabies through their preparations for the clash against Argentina.

Fitness clouds are still hovering above David Pocock, Israel Folau and Scott Sio as the Wallabies desperately try to beat the injury curse.

Pocock and Sio appear unlikely to be ready to play while Folau is fighting his way back from strained ligaments in his ankle.

Schwarzer, who played 109 times for the Socceroos, was in the changerooms to congratulate Matt Giteau and Stephen Moore on their 100th Tests for the Wallabies.

But they face an almighty challenge to have the same effect as Maradona.

"I don't have a clue if he will come back," said Argentina prop Marcos Ayerza.

"When he came to the changing room, to have him around, a legend of any sport, it was fantastic.

"For him to highlight what we're doing within this team, it was huge. But our main objective of course is to keep winning."

The Wallabies will be given Thursday off before training at Twickenham on Friday.
