The build-up to the World Cup blockbuster has centred around the Wallabies' frail scrum and England's illegal tactics at the set piece. The scrum is certain to have a significant impact on the outcome as England fight to stay alive in their home tournament.

But Genia says the hosts' backline weapons are just as dangerous and the Wallabies are prepared for a midfield battle of all-out attack.

Former NRL star and South Sydney premiership hero Sam Burgess is set to be dropped to the bench one year after his grand final heroics for the Rabbitohs.

Jonathan Joseph is poised to reclaim a starting spot after recovering from a chest injury while fullback Mike Brown wants to salvage England's tournament.

The Wallabies are widely regarded as one of the most dangerous backlines in the World Cup, led by Israel Folau and supported by Tevita Kuridrani and Matt Giteau.

But Genia says England are just as dangerous.

"Their backline is very, very classy. Mike Brown at fullback is very silky and very good under the high ball," Genia said. "Ben Youngs is obviously an exceptional player ... and their whole back three - Johnny Mayes and [Anthony] Watson - they are all very silky and very quick. They can beat you one on one and if they create space and give them an opportunity, they are good enough. Defensively we have to make sure we don't give them that room and shut them down.

"It gives them a different dimension,they can attack you from anywhere but they not only have talent in the forwards, but in the backs as well."

Wallabies coach Michael Cheika will name his team on Thursday morning (Thursday night AEST).

Prop James Slipper was concussed against Fiji and missed the clash against Uruguay, but is expected to be back in contention to play England.

The Wallabies were dealt the first blow of their campaign when Will Skelton (pectoral) and Wycliff Palu (hamstring) were ruled out of the tournament. They were replaced by Sam Carter and James Hanson, who are now both with the Wallabies in London.

England have their own dramas, and face an early elimination from the World Cup if they lose to Australia. They have also struggled with injuries, calling on 37-year-old Nick Easter to replace Billy Vunipola.

Halfback Youngs has also been struggling with an ankle problem.

Burgess has been demoted to the bench after copping criticism for his role in England's three-point loss to Wales.

The loss of Palu and Skelton has left a big hole in the Wallabies' line-up.

They no longer have a big, damaging ball carrier who strikes fear into opposition teams.

But Genia was confident the arrival of Carter and the Wallabies' established forwards would fill the gap.

"I think the side is pretty well blessed with ball carriers. You look across the park you've got [Rob Simmons] Simmo who carries quite well, Squeak [captain Stephen Moore], guys like [James Slipper], [Sekope Kepu] Kepps is incredible, he's got born hands," Genia said.

"We've got guys who can step up and take those roles and guys have already been doing it as well.

"We just want to get our plays right, our attitudes right and make sure we get the right mentality into the game.

"We want to play the way we normally play, the way Cheik likes us to play, with physicality, power, having a presence on the field and obviously back that up with skills."
