Greg Growden writes: Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder is certainly hands-on, getting heavily involved in their main training this week in Johannesburg - even staying behind after the session for some running drills. The reason why he was in the Crusaders training kit was simple - his bags were lost on the flight from Sydney. He is still relaxed as his star five-eighth Daniel Carter hit town with all of his gear, and will make his first run-on start for the year.
Cipriani no big loss for the Rebels
Danny Cipriani is out for a few weeks with a dance floor injury and Sonny Bill Williams is set to run rings around the Waratahs.
AAP writes: All Black maestro Dan Carter is back in the No.10 jersey for the first time this season after overcoming his groin injury. The Crusaders have also recalled Wyatt Crockett and George Whitelock to their starting pack against the beefed-up Lions who were highly physical in their loss to the Stormers. The Lions will miss hard-working centre Doppies la Grange who has had elbow surgery but they're expected to have flyhalf Elton Jantjies back on board. The Crusaders have struggled first up on trips to Africa in recent years and know it won't be a walk in Ellis Park.
CRUSADERS: Israel Dagg, Sean Maitland, Robbie Freuan, Tom Taylor, Zac Guildford, Dan Carter, Andy Ellis, Kieran Read (capt), Matt Todd, George Whitelock, Sam Whitelock, Luke Romano, Owen Franks, Corey Flynn, Wyatt Crocket. Reserves: Quentin MacDonald, Ben Franks, Tom Donnelly, Luke Whitelock, Willi Heinz, Ryan Crotty, Tom Marshall.
