Remarkable Super Rugby statistics show Folau scores with every fifth time he touches the ball this season, bagging five tries from 27 touches in just two games.

Former dual international Wendell Sailor says incumbent Wallabies fullback Folau is unstoppable, backing the former NRL and AFL player to rival Sonny Bill Williams' status as a cross-code superstar.

The ACT Brumbies' brains trust is trying to formulate a plan to stop Folau in Canberra in a showdown against the NSW Waratahs on Saturday night.

"You can never take Izzy out of the game. There's no negating what he can do to you," Sailor said.

"The only bad games I've seen him play were in AFL [for the GWS Giants]. You almost have to handcuff him [to stop him scoring].

"But if any one is going to stop him, it's [Brumbies coach] Stephen Larkham. He was the brains [of the Wallabies] when I was playing ... but the Brumbies forwards have to own the Waratahs forwards if they want to be a chance to stop Izzy.

"At some stage, I think Izzy can be bigger than Sonny Bill, but he has to win some trophies."

Folau tormented the Western Force and Queensland Reds in his first two games of the season.

He scored a hat-trick in round one against the Force and backed it up with a double against the Reds.

Super Rugby statistics compiled by Opta Sports for the competition's governing body show Folau needs just four touches before he's ready to strike with a try.

In his 27 carries, Folau has made 225 metres, passing 15 times and kicking once on his way to five tries in two games.

The Force and Reds considered trying to starve Folau of possession in their respective games. But the tactics failed.

"We haven't [said, 'Don't kick to Folau'], we're very wary of Israel's ability to counterattack," Larkham said.

"He stands out on the field pretty well. It's everyone's responsibility [to know where he is].

"What he's shown over the last year is his ability to beat his man one-on-one. So we've really focused on that in terms of our kick chase.

"We just have to be aware where he is because he likes to get his hands on the ball. He's had a very good start to the season, but we're not just targeting one guy.

"We've spoken about [Folau] a lot this week and hopefully the talk ends in a good result."

The Brumbies are taking a cautious approach to their bid to limit Folau's impact at Canberra Stadium.

Winger Henry Speight, who was Australian Super Rugby's leading try-scorer last season, said the Brumbies risked being blown off the field by the Waratahs' star-laden back line if they put too much emphasis on Folau.

The Waratahs boast Folau, Kurtley Beale, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Bernard Foley and rookie speedster Alofa Alofa.

"Five tries in five games says it all, we have to work as a collective to shut him down," Speight said.

"The Waratahs also have Beale and Ashley-Cooper ... if we focus on Folau the other guys will run circles around us."

The Brumbies named an unchanged line-up for the rivalry clash against the Waratahs.

The only change in their 23-man game day squad is with the back up scrumhalf position. South African Conrad Hoffmann will play for the ACT XV against Samoa A, opening up a spot for rookie Michael Dowsett to join the Brumbies bench.
