Jones will finish in his role on Monday at 5pm after agreeing to a payout on the weekend, ending six weeks of infighting between Jones and the board.

However, the court case against the University of Canberra, its vice-chancellor Stephen Parker, David Lamont, Joe Roff and the University of Canberra Union with the potential of others being joined in.

The Brumbies board will start searching for a new chief executive in the coming days and will consult with senior management this week to decide on an acting boss.

Larkham believes the off-field dramas did not filter into his rugby program and urged fans to stick with the club as they aim to resurrect their Super Rugby season.

Players Stephen Moore and Scott Fardy were dragged into the saga when they were named as part of a potential workplace investigation lodged by Jones. The investigation is not going ahead and Brumbies insiders say claims made in an internal email are false.

Larkham said the pair were in the best form of their respective careers despite dealing with outside distractions.

Larkham is trying to recruit and retain players and staff, as well as finalising his own contract beyond the end of the season.

Jones' departure means more responsibility will fall on his shoulders to liaise with player agents and manage the Brumbies' salary cap.

"There's still a lot of work to be done, it's not over yet. The organisation has a lot of work to do," Larkham said.

"We've got to sort out who's going to make decisions and give us that direction going forward.

"The plan is for me to take player contracts, that's happened before. And it's usually the case anyway that I talk to players we're interested in and the final step goes to a chief executive.

"The head of every department will step up and take on more of a load."

The off-field issues were starting to drive a wedge between some at the Brumbies as players, coaches and staff tried to work out which side to take.

But the squad has remained relatively neutral throughout the process. Fardy is the players' representative onof the board while Moore is a senior leader.Players declined to comment on the Jones matter, preferring to focus on resurrecting their season ahead of a clash against the Bulls on Friday night.

It is understood there was a degree of surprise that Moore and Fardy were dragged into a boardroom power struggle.

"The only people who were involved from the players were Stephen Moore and Scott Fardy," Larkham said.

"The focus of those two has been tremendous, and Fards is playing his best footy this year and so is Stephen Moore. It didn't seem to affect them at all.

"I think the preparation of the boys has been spot-on and I was never really concerned that it would affect the squad."

It will go down as one of the ugliest periods in the Brumbies' history, with the club's chief executive taking action in the ACT Supreme Court against the board.

The parties agreed to an official mediation process and reached a resolution on Friday night, before signing a separation deal on Saturday morning.

Jones will leave with a significant payout of the final 18 months of his contract in another financial blow to the Brumbies, who recorded a massive $1.68 million loss last year.

But the money used to pay Jones will not be drawn from the Brumbies' rugby program.

The Brumbies play the Bulls at Canberra Stadium as they attempt to end a form slump that has seen them lose four of the past six matches.

Their first loss of the year coincided with the start of the instability surrounding Jones' position.

Larkham dismissed that as "purely a coincidence". "If I have a look at the losses [in that period] there are a number of reasons for each.

"There were too many mistakes, some interpretation issues ... there's a reason for everything. But no, I think it's only a coincidence."
