Siliva will be thrust into the starting XV for the first time this season in the Brumbies' clash against the Auckland Blues at Canberra Stadium on Friday night.

The 15-game front-rower has played just 46 minutes this season and has been given the task of replacing Moore, the Wallabies' most-capped hooker and one of the best rakes in world rugby.

But Fisher and Brumbies captain Ben Mowen have backed 22-year-old Silvia, who has spent four years in Super Rugby and played with the Australian under-20s, to shine in a brutal forward-pack battle.

Siliva's first season with the Brumbies was hampered by injuries and he missed the entire 2012 campaign, and he hasn't been in the starting XV since June last year.

"[Siliva's] set piece is good, I don't think we'll lose too much there," Fisher said.

"I'm happy to give a guy like Siliva an opportunity. He's the future of Australian rugby in the front row and hopefully he takes it with both hands.

"He's got a great feel for the game, he's a naturally smart footballer who understands where the opportunities are. His challenge over the last couple of years has been to get physically in the right place to be a quality Super Rugby player."

The Brumbies have the second-best lineout efficiency in Super Rugby and their scrum has scored two penalty tries in the past two weeks.

But after starting the season with an all Wallabies front row, Ben Alexander will be joined by rookies Siliva and JP Smith in taking on All Blacks Tony Woodcock and 130-kilogram giant Charlie Faumuina.

Moore has had an injection in his injured knee and it is hoped he will be fit to play the Queensland Reds next week.

Moore's absence adds to a long injury list and leaves the Brumbies with just one fit forward – prop Allan Alaalatoa – available for selection outside of the game-day squad.

The Brumbies are set to get a boost next week with Wallabies prop Scott Sio and new recruit Tom McVerry expected to be available to play.

Mowen described Siliva as "a genuine" footballer.

"[Moore] has been outstanding for us every game ... but it's a great opportunity for Siliva to come in and perform," Mowen said.

"Siliva is a genuine footy player ... he's got the whole package. He can take the ball to the line, he's got a good offload and he's that blend of hooker and [openside breakaway]. He's young and developing, but he's already proven himself for us."

Moore's injury is the only change to the Brumbies' line-up for the clash against the Blues.

Wallabies centre Christian Lealiifano will spend another week on the bench in his comeback from ankle surgery, leaving Pat McCabe the task of shutting down All Blacks powerhouse Ma'a Nonu.

Mowen insists the team is intent on a "good reaction" after a shock loss to the Melbourne Rebels last weekend.

The Brumbies sit at the top of the Australian conference, but their position is precariously placed with just three points separating the ACT, the NSW Waratahs, Queensland Reds and Western Force.

"We had some soft moments [against the Rebels], some points were given to us probably too easily," Mowen said.

"That wasn't reflective [of the game] ... we probably thought it was going to happen easily and we were probably out-spirited in the end.

"We will judge ourselves on the effort level we put into a game and we were short last week. We want to make sure there's a good reaction [against the Blues]."
