Matt Toomua's season-ending knee injury last week allowed the Brumbies to avoid a significant selection headache over rookie Jesse Mogg's Super Rugby eligibility.
Mogg is part of the Brumbies' five-man EPS and is only allowed to be part of the game-day squad if another outside back has a minimum three-week injury.
The fullback started the season as Pat McCabe's replacement in White's top squad and has kept his place with Robbie Coleman on the sideline.
Coleman could play against the Melbourne Rebels next weekend, but it is understood the Brumbies have received clearance for Mogg to continue in playmaker Toomua's absence.
The ARU-funded EPS program is in its first year as an addition to 30 full-time contracted players at each Australian team.
At the start of the season players from the program were only eligible to be elevated into selection contention to replace an injured player in the same position.
The Brumbies have already used four of their five EPS members - Mogg, Scott Sio, Anthony Hegarty and Scott Fardy - in games and backs coach Stephen Larkham conceded the system's rules create confusion.
''All the [Australian] provinces are on the same page and agree the full 35 players should be available to use at any stage,'' Larkham said.
''I think it's something that needs to be reviewed going into next year.
''The EPS guys are treated like full-time players.
''They do everything the team does, so why can't they participate as well?''
Given Mogg's impressive start to the season, the Brumbies are likely to try to elevate him into their full-time squad next year.
Brumbies coach Jake White is keen to test all of his rookies in Super Rugby this season to help him with his recruitment and retention.
After six games, the Brumbies have used just 26 of their 35 players.
The World Cup-winning mentor has already started contract negotiations with several players - including Christian Lealiifano, Matt Toomua and Henry Speight - and it is hoped details are finalised in the coming week.
Coleman returned to running with the team this week after injuring his groin in the opening week of the season.
