Cheika revealed his method for building team culture after wayward star Kurtley Beale was recalled to the squad for the spring tour of Europe.

It also comes as the Wallabies prepare to move their base to Dublin, the city that damaged the team's morale following the infamous "Dublin Six" night out on the town almost a year ago.

Beale will not have to sign a list of team protocols when he joins the squad six weeks after his future was thrown into doubt over a lewd message he sent to former team business manager Di Patston.

Cheika has given the players freedom to make their own decisions away from rugby, basing the new culture on respect for the Wallabies and their position in world rugby.

"We don't have [a code of conduct] written down, it's just respect," Cheika said. "Respect amongst ourselves and everyone does their jobs.

"If you go outside … I don't believe in too many of those types of rules. If you've got to force it on guys, that's a worry.

"We're so lucky to be doing what we are in this sport, we should just be lapping it up.

"The guys have shown that more often than not … I've been really pleasantly pleased, when I told them that's the way I wanted to be, I think they've grown up and matured a bit.

"It's a bit like, 'He's giving us the opportunity to be responsible men, let's take it'.

Beale was fined $45,000 and found guilty of sending the message to Patston, but he was found not guilty of sending a second, more offensive message.

News of his return to the Wallabies set up comes almost exactly 12 months after the drama in Dublin that led to six players being suspended.

The six were Nick Cummins, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Benn Robinson, Paddy Ryan and Liam Gill.

A further nine players were sanctioned, with Dave Dennis, Kane Douglas, Saia Faingaa, Bernard Foley and Nick Phipps handed written warnings and Scott Fardy, Mike Harris, Ben McCalman and Nic White reprimanded verbally.

Many believe the incident was the start of coach Ewen McKenzie's demise as the decision to suspend six players split the group.

Cheika has only been in the Wallabies job three weeks and admits the decision to fly Beale to Ireland will divide opinion in Australia.

But the ARU chose not to suspend Beale and Cheika believes the talented 25-year-old can have an impact for the last two games of the tour.

"Staying totally apolitical, the team shouldn't be into politics," Cheika said.

"They should just play and if anyone goes outside the team behaviour or our own agreement as to how we behave, that player is out.

"Whether it's player A or player B. That's all there is to it."
