Geoff Larkham is keen to continue in his role as president and is expected to re-nominate at the Brumbies' annual general meeting next month.

Larkham has been the president for the past 10 years.

But it was unclear if he would stay on when Stephen was unveiled last week as the club's new coach.

The Brumbies finalised a new coaching structure with Stephen Larkham as the head coach and Laurie Fisher as the director of rugby replacing South African Jake White.

To avoid a conflict of interest, Geoff Larkham removed himself from the process to find a new coach when White quit the last two years of his contract.

Brumbies chairman Sean Hammond says the board is keen for Larkham, who has spent more than 50 years in Canberra rugby, to continue in his role which is largely focused on community rugby in the capital and southern NSW.

The Brumbies are also expected to appoint a new board member at the annual general meeting.

''We'd like him to continue as president, he does an enormous amount of work in local rugby and we've been able to manage conflicts of interest in the past,'' Hammond said.

''If anything with coaching or involving Stephen comes up, Geoff won't be involved in that and he wasn't involved in the selection process.

''He has contributed a lot to rugby in this region and continues to do so. Most of that is at the community side so that should continue.''

The Raiders in the NRL had previously endured criticism of being a family club when David Furner was coach and older brother Don Furner was chief executive. Don Furner removed himself from coaching negotiations.

The Brumbies board will meet on Wednesday for the first time since ratifying the decision to appoint Stephen Larkham and Fisher as the club's new leaders.

Geoff Larkham's position as president is a 12-month role which is voted on at the end of every year by clubs, referees and officials.

Geoff Larkham had considered stepping down at the end of White's tenure as coach, but has committed to continuing in the role.

''We've all discussed it and there doesn't seem to be any hiccups at the moment,'' Geoff Larkham said.

''We've got an AGM coming up in December … my position as president is 80 per cent involved in community rugby with Monaro, the south coast and Southern Inland and the other 20 per cent is the Brumbies.

''Who knows in the future … I wasn't involved in any of the coaching talks and I won't be.''
