JOHANNESBURG: Super Rugby strugglers the Lions have suspended New Zealand-born coach John Mitchell after some players complained about his coaching and management style.
Lions president and former Springbok lock Kevin de Klerk refused to elaborate Friday, saying the gripes would be investigated next week and a decision made on the future of the former All Blacks coach.
Mitchell guided the Lions to the domestic Currie Cup title last year against the odds, but they have found the going tough in the southern hemisphere championship and are second last on the table with only two wins from 13 games.
