Refreshed, happy and determined. Beale's rollercoaster career appears to finally be nearing the heights many predicted he would reach.

That's why he looms as the man to end the Wallabies' woes when they play Argentina at Canberra Stadium on Saturday night.

But more importantly, Beale has a long-term vision to play out his career in Australia after a taste of English rugby reignite a spark to repay the game.

"Going to England [to play for Wasps] gave me the chance to see I could get back home and finish off what I started," Beale said.

"There's a lot more to achieve here. Missing out on those Tests while I was playing for Wasps definitely lit the fire in the belly.

"It hurt having to watch those games. That's why I decided to come back ... I love the Wallabies and playing for my country.

"I felt like I was missing out to keep achieving in the game. So to get the chance to come back and continue this journey ... I will empty the tank for Australian rugby."

Beale ended a 12-month stint with Wasps earlier this year, re-signing with the ARU and the Wallabies to restart his Australian rugby career.

The brief hiatus has helped him feel like a new man wearing Wallabies gold. He always loved playing for Australia, but having to watch from a distance reinforced his desire to make a difference.

He has been one of the Wallabies' most influential players this year, scoring a dazzling try against South Africa last week and being a back-line spark.

For so long Beale was the enigma of Australian rugby. He has oozed talent from the moment he made his Test debut eight years ago, but he never seemed quite settled enough to reach his full potential.

Flashes of brilliance were followed by moments of frustration. But the 28-year-old is showing signs he's a new man, and says "scratching the itch" of playing overseas has helped him find happiness.

"I think the itch is out of me now. Going to Wasps was great for me and it was an awesome experience," Beale said.

"I had a lot of fun and I enjoyed my time. No doubt it helped me become a better player. But I think the most important thing it did for me was appreciating what it's like to wear that gold jersey.

"I don't know what's going to happen in the future or how it will end up. But right now ... I want to make the most of my opportunities. I enjoying my rugby a lot."

Beale's enjoyment is showing through in the way he's taking charge of the Wallabies' back line and easing the pressure on Bernard Foley and Israel Folau.

The trio have now played the past three Tests together as a flyhalf, inside centre and fullback combination, which is also set to benefit the NSW Waratahs for the Super Rugby season next year.

"[Beale] adds a very important link in our game," said Wallabies backs coach Stephen Larkham.

"Bernard and Willy [Genia] are controlling everything in tight and KB's the man who calls for the ball when it's on out wide.

"I think the guys outside, the inside backs, are now appreciating there is a distributor there, someone with really good vision but also some attacking flair.

"He's created a lot of opportunities when he's on his own. We couldn't be happier with the way that he's performed so far."

Beale, Foley and Folau will shoulder the Wallabies' hopes of breaking through for their first win since beating Italy in June.

If they fall to Argentina, it will be Australia's worst start to a Rugby Championship campaign.

It wasn't part of Beale's homecoming plan, but he wants the Wallabies to find a way to make fans proud. Beating Argentina is the start, but the Beale says the real moment of change will be when the Wallabies wear an indigenous jersey on October 21.

"As players we have to build a successful journey, and that will help supporters get on board and back us," Beale said.

"We can reach out to multi-cultural Australia. The indigenous jersey is the start of that, and it's something so special to me. That's why I love being back here, I know this is where I want to be."
