ACT Brumbies recruit Pocock will miss the Wallabies' clash with England on Sunday morning after injuring his calf at training this week.

The champion flanker has missed most of the international season with a knee injury and despite not being 100 per cent fit, Wallabies coach Robbie Deans picked him for the four-match European tour.

Further injury could jeopardise his pre-season training schedule with his new Brumbies teammates and his ability to slot into Jake White's line-up.

White's priority is to turn his Super Rugby players into Wallabies and the Brumbies gave their blessing for Pocock to tour.

But privately the club would likely have had concerns about its marquee recruit being rushed back for end-of-year games instead of recuperating in Canberra.

Jones says it's part of an uncoordinated approach that needs to be fixed immediately.

Deans has called on the Australian Super Rugby teams to rest their players during the season next year ahead of the British and Irish Lions tour.

However, Pocock, Stephen Moore, Ben Alexander, James O'Connor, Sitaleki Timani, Saia Fainga'a, Digby Ioane, James Horwill, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Sekope Kepu and Scott Higginbotham have been injured or re-injured outside of matches while with the Wallabies.

''There's no yearly plan, that's what's missing and it's all over the shop at the moment,'' Jones said.

''But taking players [like Pocock to Europe] who possibly shouldn't have gone and then re-injuring those players, it exemplifies a distinct lack of planning and co-ordination.

''At the moment there's a vicious cycle … the provinces get players good and they come back [from internationals] injured, none of the players seem to be developing as quickly as they should be.

''For Pocock, you want him to be at his best for the 2015 World Cup and he needs to be playing consistently well for the Brumbies.

''To take him [on the tour], was it the best thing for his rugby career?

''You'd probably have to say no.''

Brumbies coach White has said he would be keen to work with Deans on ensuring Test players are not overworked with Super Rugby and Wallabies duties.

Jones believes the Brumbies have developed one of the strongest strength and conditioning programs in Australia with Dean Benton as the athletic performance director. But he fears the work is not continuing when players join the national team.

The Wallabies were embarrassed by France last weekend and will be out for redemption against England.

Deans has been under pressure to see out his contract with the Wallabies, which ends next year.

Jones believes he can remain in the top job until his deal finishes before handing the reins over to Ewen McKenzie.

Former Wallabies skipper Stirling Mortlock said it was too late to sack Deans now with the British and Irish Lions tour looming next year.

Deans overtook Bob Dwyer as the most-capped Wallabies coach with the French game (68 Tests) and signed a two-year extension before the 2011 World Cup.

But his win-loss record can't be ignored - he's only managed to steer the side to 39 wins.

''I think it's extremely difficult when you take into consideration the Lions - the biggest thing for Australian rugby outside of the World Cup - is happening three-quarters of the way through the Super Rugby season next year,'' Mortlock said of the three-Test series in June-July.

''The reality of initiating something like that, [sacking him], it would be pretty detrimental to the team and to anything we're trying to build towards the Lions.

''I really don't see it happening because it would be really difficult to start from scratch when the next Test match they play after this tour will be against the Lions.''

With the Wallabies' failure to score a try in Paris, they become the first Australian side in the professional era to play consecutive games without crossing.
