Genia opened up in London about his future, declaring he would consider all options for his next contract but that the ARU and Queensland Reds would have every chance to "be in the ball game" to retain his services.

Genia is considering a move to Bath or French rugby as he prepares for a return to the Wallabies line-up for the first time this year to play against the Barbarians at Twickenham on Sunday morning.

Burgess will be unveiled by Bath on Thursday night, less than a month after guiding the Rabbitohs to the NRL premiership and winning the Clive Churchill Medal as the grand final's best player despite suffering a broken cheekbone and fractured eye socket.

Burgess was also crowned the world's best player last week and looms as a huge drawcard for Genia, who conceded teaming up with the England World Cup hopeful could be a decisive factor.

"Obviously the chance to possibly play with someone as special a player like that is definitely appealing," Genia said.

"You saw the type of character he was in that NRL grand final with a performance that he put in.

"You always want to play with guys who are inspirational and make such an impact on the game. That is something that would definitely weigh into the decision."

Genia is expected to get a chance to impress new Wallabies coach Michael Cheika and will get a double boost by reuniting with Queensland Super Rugby teammate Quade Cooper in the back line.

The pair were Australia's first-choice halves combination for the 2011 World Cup and won a Super Rugby title together.

But injuries and form have limited their time together at international level recently and Genia is keen for their partnership to spark the Wallabies' attack.

Genia has been relegated to Australia's No. 3 halfback behind Nick Phipps and Nic White. But he said he held no selection grudges against former Test coach Ewen McKenzie.

"I don't think my Test career's [off track], I've been injured for a little bit," Genia said.

"I don't think every game is an audition, you've got to go out there and have fun. Quade and I got through the spring tour last year and it was special to be back with him.

"The fact we're both injury free, hopefully we can keep building that partnership. We know each other's game inside out."

There has been talk about whether NSW coach Cheika would favour his Super Rugby players. But Genia knows first-hand that Super Rugby loyalty doesn't extend to the Test arena after being dropped by former Reds coach McKenzie last year.

"It's refreshing having someone new [Cheika] come in, what he wants to build is unique. He's an honest, genuine guy and will look you in the eye every time you have a conversation with him, and you know that what he says is real, not just lip service.

"...It's always hard because you want to play. You don't hold grudges against coaches or players, you just want to get out there and enjoy it."

Genia hosed down fears of a mass Australian player exodus after the World Cup with rich clubs ready to pounce on the Wallabies' best.

But the 55-Test Wallaby and Super Rugby title winner said he would show respect to the Reds and ARU before making his decision.

"I don't have to look elsewhere, there's the opportunity to stay. It's just what I feel is best for my future," he said.

"There are opportunities to look at Bath, places in France or stay in Australia. You've got to make sure you give respect to the Queensland Reds and ARU as well, they've been a big part of my life.

"As far as giving them every opportunity to be in the ball game in keeping a player is always a good thing, but also respecting that you're honest with them. I'm definitely considering everything."
