IGA to stock Darrell Lea chocolates
Darrell Lea chocolates will be on the shelves of IGA supermarkets by the end of October under the first deal signed by the chocolate maker's new owner.
Queensland entrepreneur Tony Quinn and his family bought Darrell Lea earlier this month, after it fell into the control of administrators in July.
Under a deal announced today, Darrell Lea confectionary will be stocked in 1400 IGA supermarkets from October 29.
The last remaining Darrell Lea stores were closed as part of the Quinn family's restructure of the business.
"Our manufacturing and distribution staff are working hard to get the products to the IGA shelves so we can satisfy Darrell Lea's loyal customers," Mr Quinn said in a statement.
IGA plans an extensive marketing campaign to boost sales of Darrell Lea products, and hopes for a strong Christmas retail period.
Darrell Lea products are also sold by 1200 licensed retailers, such as pharmacies and newsagents.
