The ACT Comets skipper led from the front in an intra-squad trial match by scoring an unbeaten 178 for Team Blue against Team Gold at Manuka Oval on Sunday,
Rogers led the Blue side while youngster Blake Macdonald steered the ship for the Gold squad, with the fixture to shape the lineup for the next Futures League clash.
Gold skipper Blake Macdonald (69) led his side to an imposing 7-301, but it wasn't enough to stop a Bucky Rogers masterclass as Team Blue chased down the target with five balls to spare.
Team Gold wicketkeeper Andrew Harriott (68) did his chances of a Futures League return no harm with a dazzling half-century, while teammate and Comets staple Tom Rogers (56) chipped in with a half-century of his own.
Team Blue duo Ben Izzard and Sam Skelly were the pick of the bowlers in the first innings, sharing identical figures of 2-54.
Shane Devoy, Ryan Smith, and Jason Ralston were among the wickets for Team Gold but were left searching for answers during Rogers' onslaught.
The match was scheduled to be the first of two trials before the Comets' next Futures League match against Victoria, starting February 6.
