She suffered two shoulder injuries last season, had rib cartilage damage and was involved in a car crash this year. But ACT all-rounder Kira Churchland hopes her bad luck is in the past as the Meteors aim to break their winless streak in the women's Twenty20 competition.

Churchland is in the Meteors' 13-player squad for this weekend's three-game series against the Queensland Fire at Manuka Oval, starting with a Twenty20 game on Friday night.
The Meteors are chasing their first win in the shorter format this season after making the final last summer, but are still in contention to reach the top four of the 50-over competition.
Churchland is back to full fitness after a back injury sustained in a car crash in June left her sidelined for two months. That came after two separate shoulder injuries affected her performances with the Meteors last season.
"The first one I almost tore my rotator cuff. Then coming back from that, in a trial game I landed on a rope and tore my AC," Churchland said.
"It was on the same shoulder, my right, so it was quite hard to get back from that.
"Then this year I was stopped at the traffic lights one Saturday morning, a girl locked her brakes up and ran into the back of me.
"I felt fine at the time, then got back in the car and my back didn't feel right. I wasn't running for six to eight weeks and had a modified program around my lower body."
While she jokes her recovery has given her "awesome legs", Churchland knows the Meteors need to bounce back to kick-start their season.
"We need to pull our finger out and work hard and get a few wins," Churchland said.
