Mack has been rewarded for her stellar Women's National Cricket League season with selection in the Shooting Stars squad for a series of one-day and Twenty20 games this month.
It's her second time with the Shooting Stars after she was with the team as an 18-year-old on a tour of New Zealand.
The highlight of Mack's second season with the Meteors was her knock of 106 from 131 balls in a 50-over match against the Queensland Fire at Manuka Oval in December.
Mack has concentrated on her batting since joining the Meteors, but was looking forward to adding another string to her bow on the Sri Lankan pitches.
"I bowl leg spin, so I've been working hard trying to get that back up," Mack said.
"I came here as a batter and trying to get my bowling back up.
"It'll be interesting to see the slower wickets and what I have to do to adapt to that."
She has embraced the extra responsibility and the chance to test herself in the WNCL.
"It was a great opportunity coming down here, lots of young players, just starting up," she said.
"It's just the higher level, it's a big jump coming from grade to state.
"This year I knew what I had to do and the standard that I had to be at and hoped it was going to pay off."
The 21-year-old is off to Brisbane next week to play a two-day game in combination with the Australian team, the Southern Stars, before heading to Sri Lanka with the development squad.
