Jones posted a final round score of three-under 69 at The Hills golf club on Sunday to finish at nine under after the four days.
Fellow Canberran and Gold Creek professional Matt Millar finished in a tie for 44th, finishing at six under overall after a one-under round of 71.
Jordan Zunic from NSW claimed a thrilling one-shot victory, finishing on 21 under just one stroke ahead of Victorian David Bransdon.
Jones started his round beautifully with three birdies on the front nine to move up to nine under.
But a double bogey on the par four, 12th and another dropped shot on the par four, 15th halted his charge up the leaderboard.
Jones kept his composure and had birdies on the 13th, 14th and 16th holes as part of an eventful final round.
Millar also started off strongly with a couple of birdies in the first six holes, but dropped shots on eight and nine to make the turn even for the day.
Two more birdies on the 11th and 13th holes pushed Millar up to seven under overall before he bogeyed the 18th.
