Canberra golfer Matt Millar has ruled out a full-time return to the US or Europe, but admits "doors might open" on the back of his impressive start to the year.

Millar has returned as resident professional at the Gold Creek Country Club after winning the New Zealand PGA and notching up three other top-10 performances.
He will now turn his focus to playing in the Canberra region leg of the Pro-Am circuit, with $84,000 up for grabs across six one- and two-day tournaments from April 14 to 22.
Millar is one of 14 players competing in the series who have won on the Australasian PGA Tour after he broke through for his maiden victory in the NZ PGA in Auckland last month.
That followed on from finishing second at the Queensland PGA, sixth at the Victorian Open and seventh at the Victorian PGA.
"I wouldn't go back to Europe or America, but I'll see how we go," Millar said.
"If I continue to play well, doors might open at the end of the season.
"At this stage, I'm pretty happy playing in Australia and being at home with my family a bit more."
Millar will be joined on the Pro-Am Series by several familiar faces, including Queensland veteran Terry Price and David McKenzie, who is a winner on the USPGA's secondary tour.
The series kicks off with the $20,000 Goulburn Pro-Am on April 14-15 before moving for an 18-hole tournament at the Yowani Golf Club (April 16) and the $20,000 Murrumbidgee Pro-Am (April 18-19).
The Federal Golf Club will host a new event on April 20 before players round out their visit with Pro-Am's at the Queanbeyan Golf Club (April 21) and Gold Creek (April 22).
"It gives everyone an opportunity at their golf club to get out there and play," Millar said.
"From the pro's perspective, it gives them the opportunity to play 10 rounds pretty much straight.
"It won't be the biggest chunk of money they'll earn this year, but it goes towards covering expenses for bigger tournaments overseas and keep them going."
Millar will be out to defend his title at the Queanbeyan Pro-Am and is always among the leaders at Murrumbidgee.
He believes the tournaments are important to boosting the sport's profile in the region.
"With it being the only professional golf in Canberra, it is very critical to have these events," Millar said.
"They're not easy to come by in today's economy and we do need golf promoted in Canberra."
