The Melbourne Victory defender has been picked in Vidmar's 23-man squad for the upcoming Asian Football Confederation under-23 championship qualifiers in Chinese Taipei.
The Olyroos have a hectic schedule of three games in five days, going up against Hong Kong on March 27, Chinese Taipei on March 29 and Myanmar on March 31 in Kaohsiung City.
Geria has had an impressive season with the Victory in the A-League, but missed last Friday's match against the Western Sydney Wanderers with a calf injury.
Vidmar spoke with Victory coach Kevin Muscat, who believes Geria is on track to join the Olyroos when they fly out of the country next week.
"I think Jason's been performing quite well," Vidmar said.
"They're still young kids learning the game, him and (Victory teammate Scott Galloway).
"Sure, they're going to make some mistakes, but we still need to encourage and give them the confidence they're doing the right things."
The Olyroos squad includes 11 A-League players and 12 from overseas clubs, including World Cup striker Adam Taggart, Asian Cup winner Terry Antonis and Liverpool's Brad Smith.
