Just 349 days ago, the Goulburn Bulldogs were a Ben Nicoll charge down away from a Canberra Raiders Cup premiership.
Now they are riding an eight-game losing streak and fighting to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon ahead of their final game of the season against Simon Woolford's Queanbeyan Blues on Saturday.
The Blues, on the other hand, are shooting for a fourth-straight grand final appearance after breaking Goulburn's hearts in extra-time for two years running.
It means the Blues are on the verge of a three-peat, a feat that hasn't been achieved since the Canberra Raiders Cup began 18 years ago.
In fact, you have to wind back to West Belconnen's golden era in the Molonglo Shield days to find the last premiership hat-trick (1989-91).
