Canadian import Stephen Blunden was the standout for the Brave with an outstanding four-goal performance in front of a vocal home crowd.
The Brave (3-2) has now won back-to-back games after last Sunday's morale-boosting 4-2 victory on the road against the Newcastle North Stars.
It's a great start to the season for the Brave, which was established after the demise of the Canberra Knights earlier this year.
Matt Harvey got the Brave off to a perfect start in the first period, before Blunden found the net twice in the opening stanza on the way to a 3-0 advantage at the first intermission.
The Brave continued to pile on the pressure as Blunden gave the Thunder defence nightmares.
The visitors scored a consolation goal in the final 20 minutes, but by then the Brave was on cruise control on its way to its third win from five games this year.
The Brave will look to make it three wins on the trot when it battles the Thunder on Sunday at 5pm.
