With the Regional Twenty20 Cup already in the trophy cabinet, Creek picked up their sixth Gallop Cup win on the trot with a 183-run thumping of Ginninderra in Kippax on Saturday.

Creek captain John Rogers says his side is trying to build a "snowball" as they roll on towards "the big prize" - the two-day Douglas Cup title in March.

The competition frontrunners were sent in to bat on a challenging wicket at Kippax No 2 Oval and Rogers said it "turned out to be a pretty good toss to lose".

Creek openers Robbie Trickett (93 off 101 balls) and Jono Dean (56 off 56) got the visitors off the a flyer, both posting half-centuries before Harry Medhurst blitzed Ginniderra's attack with 66 off 39 deliveries.

Chasing Creek's 4/260 was always going to be difficult for Ginninderra given they had just 42 overs to do it after the damp pitch delayed the start of the match.

Things only got harder as Creek fast bowler Joe Slater (three wickets) ripped through the Tigers' top order.

Only two batsmen reached double figures as Slater and Medhurst (four wickets) had Ginninderra all out for 77.

"What's so pleasing for me is we don't rely on any one player and everyone has contributed so far to a win or to a game in some way, shape or form," Rogers said.

"When they get their opportunity, they do the business, which is what we're all about."

With a top-two spot sewn up, Creek's attention now turns to the second leg of the double-header with tomorrow's clash against Wests-UC.

"Unfortunately the double-header has been poorly scheduled with a lot of representative cricket, so we've got almost a brand new team tomorrow given a lot of our blokes are playing various representative stuff," Rogers said.

"It will be a challenge but the rules and our principles will apply and we'll apply them tomorrow and see how we go. Hopefully it's a win and we lock down top spot."

Creek and Tuggeranong will finish in the top two, with third and fourth spots still up for grabs - Queanbeyan and Ginninderra are in the box seat to secure them.

Round seven of the Gallop Cup and the semi-finals are split by the start of the two-day competition but Rogers says that won't be an issue.

"We're trying to rock up every weekend and start from ground zero so to speak each time," he said.

"We start with the same plans, we start with the same warm-ups, we start with the same everything no matter what happened the weekend before.

Meanwhile, North Canberra-Gungahlin's English import Joe Leach played a starring role in his side's 11-run win over ANU.

An inspired bowling display from Adam Ritchard (4/27 off 9 overs) led Tuggeranong Valley to a four-wicket win against Queanbeyan.

Michael Spaseski scored 81 and claimed 3/22 (7) to give Eastlake a sniff of a finals appearance in a 34-run victory over Wests-UC.
