The Darters’ double-header weekend starts on Saturday evening, when it plays a league powerhouse in the NSW Waratahs.
The Waratahs are yet to play this season, but the team has made the grand final for the past four years, winning it in 2011.
Meanwhile the Darters are coming off opening-round losses at the hands of the Tasmania Spirit (52-38) and Queensland Fusion (61-47) in Tasmania last week.
But Darters coach Melinda Clarke said there were promising signs.
"We showed in patches what we could do, especially in the game against Tasmania," she said.
"We were guilty of some simple errors, but there was a lot of good things to take into this week."
The Darters attackers showed they can convert their chances with the right delivery, shooting at a fraction less than 80 per cent for the weekend.
Alison Miller, 17, led the way at 90 per cent (18/20), and import Alix McDermott shouldered much of the shooting load with 83 per cent accuracy (40/48).
"It's just about being consistent over all four quarters and being able to make the right decisions under pressure," Clarke said.
The Darters will back up with a second game against the NSW Blues on Sunday afternoon.
