Canberra Olympic are in discussions with multiple third parties as they edge closer to deciding on a venue to host A-League club Sydney FC in the FFA Cup semi-finals.

It is understood the club are weighing up two options – Canberra Stadium and Tuggeranong's Viking Park – for the fixture to be played on either October 18 or 26.
The ACT government previously indicated it would work with Olympic should a venue such as Canberra Stadium be necessary, while Viking Park was nearly overflowing two years ago when 5150 piled in to see Tuggeranong United play host to Melbourne Victory.
Olympic expect a crowd of between 5500 and 7000, meaning Deakin Stadium won't fit the bill.
The figure suggests Olympic could be leaning towards Viking Park – a bigger crowd expectancy would have made Canberra Stadium the preferred destination based on capacity.
Canberra Olympic vice-president John Athanasiou urged local rivals to continue putting their rivalries aside and make an A-League-sized statement to Football Federation Australia.
"This is a great opportunity for not only our club but for football in our region to showcase that there is a lot of support," Athanasiou said.
"Not only in Canberra but the supporting areas, there are a number of football lovers here and an A-League team wouldn't be out of place in the nation's capital."
While the two share one of Capital Football's most heated rivalries, Canberra FC have been "sensational" in offering support and their home venue for Olympic's previous FFA Cup finals fixtures.
"Last year with Gungahlin, and the year before with Tuggeranong, a lot of the footballing community does get behind it," Athanasiou said.
"Whilst you do have the rivalry in day-to-day competition, that's certainly not a big issue because leading up to this we've had tremendous support from our NPL club colleagues.
"It's been fantastic, and we've received well wishes from all the other clubs. It isn't something just for the club here, this is something that showcases football in Canberra."
The only dampener on Olympic's euphoric celebrations is the news they will be without Adam Rogic – brother of Socceroos player Tom – after he was shown a red card following his second yellow card offence in the quarter-final against Green Gully on Tuesday night.
