Cricket, tennis and softball were among the sports affected, but Canberra United's W-League game against minor premiers Perth Glory on Sunday at Viking Park was likely to go ahead.

All four matches in the Cricket ACT Douglas Cup competition were called off without a ball being bowled, the first time since round two in the 2011-12 season that a whole day has been lost to rain.

The decisions on the Ginninderra v Weston Creek Molonglo and Wests/UC v Tuggeranong games were made on Friday night, with the other two games abandoned on Saturday.

Time will be made up next weekend in the second day of two-day games.

The Canberra Velocity will be in for a busy day on Sunday at the NSW/ACT conference of the Asia-Pacific Tennis League series at the Canberra Tennis Centre in Lyneham.

The round four games against the South East Smashers (women) and the Manly Waves (men) will be played at 8am, followed by the round five fixture against the Sydney University Lions straight after.

Tennis ACT chief executive Ross Triffitt said the claycourts had held up and should be right for play on Sunday.

"We'll be able to make up the matches providing the weather holds up," Triffitt said.

"It's going to be a long day for all the teams, but it's the best we can do in this situation."

Matches also have been rescheduled at the Canberra Fastpitch International Skins softball tournament at the Hawker International Softball Centre.

Finals are due to be held at 2.30pm on Sunday.

Canberra United chief executive Heather Reid was confident the W-League game against the Glory would not be affected.

The game will be shown live on ABC television at 3pm.
