The Canberra Brave has reclaimed top spot on the Australian Ice Hockey League ladder after beating the Melbourne Mustangs 7-4 at the Icehouse on Saturday night.

The Brave leapfrogged the Mustangs on the standings courtesy of four goals to one in the second period to set up its eighth win in regulation from 16 games this season.
The Brave has moved to 30 points ahead of the Mustangs (29 points) and the Melbourne Ice (28), which suffered a 4-0 loss to the Adelaide Adrenaline on Saturday.
Finnish import Anton Kokkonen continued his impressive season for the Brave with a hat-trick of goals.
The Brave held a slender 1-0 lead after the first period before putting the foot down to hold a commanding 5-1 buffer heading into the final 20 minutes.
The Mustangs hit back strongly to give themselves a sniff of an upset, but the Brave did enough to grab the victory.
The two teams meet again at 4pm on Sunday.
