Injured Canberra Capitals star Lauren Jackson will consider scaling back her off-season commitments, including playing in the WNBA with the Seattle Storm, to extend her career.

The Capitals (3-3) will continue to play without Jackson and fellow starter Hanna Zavecz in Saturday's rematch with the West Coast Waves in Perth.
Capitals forward Carly Wilson will become just the 15th player in WNBL history to reach the 300-game milestone.
Jackson is expected to make her first appearance this season before Christmas but won't put a firm timeline on her return from hip and knee surgery.
The four-time Olympian is in the second season of a three-season deal with the Capitals worth $1 million over five years.
Jackson, 33, missed the entire first season of her contract through injury and is eager to end her playing days on a high.
"It's going to be a matter of managing it and getting on top of it and being very careful about how I choose to play my seasons," she said.
"I have one more season with the Caps but whether I play in the off-season is the thing now I need to weigh up.
"I've been playing back-to-back seasons since I was a baby, I have been with the national team since I was 15, so it's not a surprise that my knees are breaking down.
"We've been training, I was back on court, and I was moving really well again, so I know I've still got it and I know I can still move.
"I am really excited about getting back there and doing my thing."
Jackson was on Friday inducted into the ACT walk of fame for her contribution to Canberra sport.
Capital Football chief executive Heather Reid was also given the honour, along with Elizabeth Dawson, Peter Dawson, Kate Carnell, Gary Humphries, Jon Stanhope and Charles Scrivener.
The short-handed Capitals have soldiered on strongly without Jackson and Zavecz, grinding out a 64-54 win against the Waves last weekend.
Jackson can't wait until she can get back on court. "It's been tough but I've had a lot of support from everyone," she said.
"I'm six foot six, so regardless if I can make a lay-up, I'm still going to be inside the paint for defence and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to help out on that end if nothing else.
"I'll make an impact one way or another."
The Capitals have been led superbly by captain Abby Bishop, receiving solid contributions from Adelaide Lighting recruit Stephanie Talbot, veteran point guard Kristen Veal and Alice Coddington.
While admitting they would love to have one more forward or centre on the roster, Jackson said coach Carrie Graf had the mix right.
"Graffy recruited well, she got a lot of experience and then she got Steph Talbot, who is our X-factor," Jackson said.
"She's going to be an Australian player one day.
"Once we get everyone back on the floor, we're going to be very tough to beat."
